Topless acrobats, world-class violinists and an indoor blossom garden were all on show as fashion designer Kenzo Takada celebrated his 80th birthday in Paris last night.
The Japanese-born creative, founder of the eponymous Kenzo label, marked the milestone with dozens of guests at the Pavillon Ledoyen, one of the oldest restaurants in the city, following his A/W 19 presentation earlier that day.
Fitting for a designer known for his bold use of colour and print, Kenzo donned a metallic gold suit embroidered with butterflies and foliage for the occasion.
Party in Paris! Fashion designer Kenzo Takada, centre, celebrated his 80th birthday with a lavish bash on Thursday night
Stealing the limelight: Topless acrobats performed an extraordinary floor routine for Kenzo and his guests at the party
Full of life: Fitting for a designer who draws inspiration from nature, the cake was covered in foliage and vibrant butterflies
Centre of attention: Kenzo, left, donned a gold embroidered suit. Right, model Anna Cleveland and her mother Pat Cleveland
Light up the night! Glamorous guests mingled beneath twinkling chandeliers in a room bathed in a soft red light
He finished the look with a matching gold fan and a pair of dark sunglasses that he kept on for most of the night.
Videos and photos from inside the event show violinists performing on raised plinths as glamorously dressed guests mingle beneath twinkling chandeliers.
It appears Kenzo plumped for a gold theme for the bash, with a mirrored gold floor rolled out in the venue and a giant gold fan serving as the backdrop for the stage.
One guest even went so far as to paint his face gold - showing real commitment to the venue's colours.
Birthday present! Kenzo is left open-mouthed as he opens a gift in front of guests like Cristina Cordula, second from right

Making an entrance: Staff carrying sparklers and gold boxes led the cake through the crowds to the birthday boy
Dynamic duo: The acrobats emerged from behind a curtain and performed their floor routine in nothing but skimpy brief
Standing out from the crowd! Kenzo stood up onto a plinth - gold fan in hand - as he prepared to receive his birthday cake
The fashion designer appeared happy to remain the centre of attention for the night and at one point stood on a platform to get a better view as he was presented with his birthday cake.
He also happily posed for photos as he opened one extravagant gift in front of his guests - pulling an open-mouthed face for effect.
Later the designer snapped a shot with the topless acrobats, who emerged from behind a curtain and performed their energetic floor routine in nothing but skimpy briefs.
More is more! Kenzo appeared in his element as he posed for photos with bouquets of flowers and some of his guests
Let us entertain you! A band kept guests entertained from the stage, which was decorated with more blossom trees
Vibrant: Interior designer Linda Pinto was among those who turned out to celebrate Kenzo, right, at the Paris party

Celebrate in style like Cristina in an embellished dress by Saint Laurent
Fashion designer Kenzo Takada certainly didn't do things by halves when it came to celebrating turning 80.
There were acrobats, a huge cake, an indoor garden and of course, plenty of guests dressed to the nines to mark the milestone!
Stylist Cristina Cordula was amongst the revellers, and she got it spot on for the occasion in this black and silver sequin embellished mini dress, which is by Saint Laurent. We love the almost animal-style stripes and extra embellishment around the neckline of this dress. The simple shift shape is super flattering and although it's a big investment, you'll want to wear it for every glamorous event you go to.
It's actually now reduced in the sale so click (right) to add it to your Yoox shopping basket.
Or say it in sequins with the help of our edit below. If it's the animal print vibe you love, head to Rixo, or else Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing and Perseverance have got some great options...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
