«Breaking News» Canadian billboard for a vibrator makes a splash with its empowering message

A cheeky billboard in Canada is encouraging women to scream their own names during fits of pleasure, and fans can't get enough of the empowering sex toy ad.

To promote PinkCherry's new 'Womanizer' vibrator, the retailer and Wow Tech Group, the producer of the product, enlisted the Canadian ad agency The Garden to design the ad with brilliant results.

'Scream your own name,' reads the baby pink billboard, which features a picture of the high-tech vibrator.

The billboard has spent three weeks located alongside one of Toronto's busiest highways (the QEW at the 427), and the agency told Ad Week that it has set an endurance record for ads of its kind in North America.

Stephanie Keating, a marketing manager at WOW Tech Group, told the outlet that advertisements that focus on female pleasure are often rejected by ad placement companies, even when they don't contain explicit or suggestive content.

'You can use sex to sell anything, except if it’s women’s pleasure,' she said.

There are no clear cut laws or consistent media guidelines when it comes to prohibitions against sexually themed ads in the U.S. and Canada, and the rules are often subject to change.

In November, the MTA, the corporation responsible for public transpiration in New York, released new advertising guidelines that prohibit any advertisement that promotes a 'sexually oriented business.'

The new rule came after the MTA’s ad agency, Outfront Media, began working with the sex toy company Dame a few months before.

Ad Week reported that Wow Tech Group's We-Vibe and Womanizer sex toys are sold at thousands of retailers in more than 60 countries, but the company struggled to find the right agency to represent its female-oriented brand.

Not only was The Garden happy to rise to the challenge, but the agency's billboard for the Womanizer vibrator couldn't have turned out better.

Fans of the billboard, many of whom are in marketing themselves, took to Twitter to praise the clever ad.

'File this under "I wish I'd written that,"' one person wrote.

Another added: 'Wish I had named this product and written the billboard headline. Wittiest as I've seen in years. Womanizer: Scream Your Own Name.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
