Baptiste viewers were left shocked by the violent death of yet another central character in the latest installment of the BBC drama.
Fans of the detective series watched villain Constantin perish tonight, after he was apparently thrown from his balcony in an assassination - just a week after the violent murder of transgender cafe owner Kim Vogel (Talisa Garcia).
The scene came in the nail-biting penultimate episode of the hit series, after the killer was blackmailed by Baptiste into helping the police investigation and ensuring the French detective's safety.
Viewers took to Twitter after the shocking scene, which left fans guessing over what might happen in the final episode next week.

Early on in the episode, Baptiste blackmailed Constantin into helping him with his investigation as the pair appeared in a tense retaurant scene

However, having agreed to help the French detective Constantin was apparently thrown from his balcony into a busy cafe on the streets below

Baptiste presented him with a 17m high performance luxury motor yacht, paid for in cash.
'Now, you'll have to admit to your employers that it's [the money] been stolen and I'm sure they already have their suspicions,' Baptiste argued.
'And if they were to discover the purchase of this boat in your name, in cash...I'm sure even Edward Stratton could make sense of that.'
The French detective promised that if anything were to happen to he or his family, then he would to tell Constantin's colleagues that he had blown the stolen money on the boat, which Baptiste had brought in the assassin's name.

Baptiste returned to TV screens on tonight as the French detective desperately tried to uncover the lost money and secure the safety of his family

Assassin Constantin was uninterested in Baptiste's offer at first, and was only interested in helping the detective once he found himself being blackmailed

Baptiste revealed he had paid for a luxury yacht in cash and that he would reveal the purchase to Constantin's colleagues
Baptiste offered the killer protection and a new life, in exchange for information and his family's safety.
Genevieve and Baptiste discussed the plan with Martha, as the French man argued that he understood the killer.
Constantin almost immediately chose to help the detective, and they agreed to meet within the hour at a secret address.
However, as the assassin desperately packed a bag of clothes in an attempt to escape, there was a loud banging at his front door.
And it wasn't not long before his fate became clear, when he plunged from his balcony and landed on the parasol of a café on the street below.

The assassin was left desperate as he suggested he would help Baptiste, and quickly packed a bag of clothes as he attempted to escape

Having agreed to help Baptiste, the killer plans an escape route, but he is terrified by a knock on the door

Those dining in the cafe below were shocked as the killer plunged to his death in an apparent assassination - leaving viewers at home in shock
Though liaison officer Genevieve questioned if it could be suicide, Baptiste knew better, saying: 'A man like that? Never.'
It wasn't the only death this week, with Edward Stratton (Tom Hollander) discovering his ex wife Claire and new boyfriend slaughtered by the Romanian gang.
Stratton managed to protect himself, and stabbed the assassin to death while he was being choked.
Secrets unfolded elsewhere in the episode, as Martha revealed to Niels that Baptiste is his father, and a grieving Greg found a mysterious box that his dead partner Kim Vogel had left him with images of her as a young boy inside.
And at the end of the programme, it was revealed that Baptiste has his doubts about ex-girlfriend Martha's honesty, suggesting she may have worked with the gang to provide them with Stratton's whereabouts.
Baptiste returns to BBC1 on Sunday for the final episode at 9pm

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
