«Breaking News» Asian black bears kept in cage for 15 years for bile harvesting are finally released

Two endangered bears who were kept in a cage for 15 years so their cruel captors could harvest their bile for Chinese medicine have finally been released.

Lim and Keo, a male and female pair of Asian black bears, were being held at a house near Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam's Binh Duong Province.

Wildlife charity workers and local authority officials worked together to rescue the moon bears from the family who were keeping them.

The pair are now being looked over by vets before being transported 932 miles to a sanctuary in Ninh Bình Province in northern Vietnam.

The female had also lost many of her teeth as she had been fed on an inappropriate diet consisting of nothing but flour.

Shocking pictures show the extent of the poor treatment they received, with missing patches of fur and rotten teeth 

Vets from the Nuoc Viet wildlife protection organisation have said it appeared both bears had been harvested for their bile.  

The Four Paws International organisation, which was also involved in the rescue, posted footage of the bears on social media.

Both of the wildlife groups are working with Vietnamese authorities to persuade bear bile farm owners to send bears to wildlife sanctuaries.

It is estimated around 800 bears are being raised across Vietnam so their bile - a digestive fluid used in traditional Chinese medicine - can be extracted.

The Vietnamese government committed itself two years ago to shutting down all bear bile farms and sending the bears to sanctuaries by 2020.

The Asian black bear is classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), mostly because of deforestation and bile harvesting.

A significant proportion of bile bears die because of the stress of unskilled surgery or infection.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
