«Breaking News» Arizona zoo worker's 911 call reporting jaguar attack

An Arizona fire department on Sunday released the recording of a 911 call from a local zoo reporting that a jaguar had attacked a visitor who scaled a fence to take a photo with the animal.

The unidentified woman suffered injuries to her arm after being clawed by the big cat at the Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park in Litchfield Park on Saturday.

She has since been released from a hospital after getting stitches and met with the owner of the zoo to apologize for her actions and acknowledge her wrongdoing .

'Her arm is in pretty bad shape,' a staffer at the zoo tells the Rural Metro Fire Department dispatcher on the newly released call.

The operator asks for the location of the victim at the zoo and instructs the caller to keep pressure on the woman's wound with a cloth, and put another cloth if she bleeds through the first one.

‘She's in, like, really bad pain,’ the zoo worker tells the dispatcher, who responds, 'I bet.'

The zoo assured animal lovers on social media that the jaguar who took a swipe at the visitor will not be euthanized, saying, 'nothing will happen to our jaguar.'

The zoo's statement said the female jaguar never left its enclosure, and that the incident was being fully investigated.

'I hear this young girl screaming: "Help, help, help" ... and the jaguar has clasped its claws outside the cage around her hand and into her flesh,' witness Adam Wilkerson told Fox 10.

Wilkerson's mother, Michelle Flores, distracted the jaguar by pushing a water bottle through the cage, and Wilkerson said he pulled the woman away from the jaguar. Cellphone video later showed the animal chewing on a plastic water bottle.

Although there were fears the jaguar would be euthanized over the incident, the zoo's bosses confirmed on Twitter she would not be put down after the attack

Speaking to CBS News, the injured woman said she was not 'attacked,' instead calling what happened to her a 'crazy accident.'

The woman added she is grateful to the people who rescued her, but not happy that Wilkerson shared the video of the incident's bloody aftermath online.

The visitor also refused to admit to scaling the fence to enter the jaguar's cage.

Last year, the same jaguar scratched a man who got near its enclosure to record a video.

According to witness account describing Saturday's incident, the female visitor had climbed over a barricade to get closer to the jaguar's enclosure when the animal reached out and swiped at her.

Although there were fears the jaguar would be euthanized, the zoo's bosses confirmed on Twitter she would not be put down after the attack.

They said: 'We can promise you nothing will happen to our jaguar.

'She's a wild animal and there were proper barriers in place to keep our guests safe- not a wild animals fault when barriers are crossed. Still sending prayers to (the woman) and her family.'

The woman suffered severe lacerations to her arm and was bleeding heavily.

Footage shot by a witness showed the woman lying on the floor crying in pain as she nursed her arm with a gaping wound on it.

Zoo officials acknowledged the woman had climbed over the barricade and said they were investigating.

'We regret to inform that this evening, before closing there was an incident reported involving a guest, who crossed over the barrier to get a photo, according to eye witnesses,' Wildlife World Zoo said in a statement.

'The visitor sustained non-life threatening injuries to their arm from one of our female jaguars. At the request of the family, paramedics were called. At no time was the animal out of its enclosure. The incident is being fully investigated.'

Zoo director Mickey Ollson said it is the second time in a month that the jaguar has swiped at a visitor.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
