«Breaking News» Andrew Yang will have public debate about his anti-circumcision policy

Democratic presidential contender Andrew Yang agreed on Wednesday to have a debate with conservative radio host Ben Shapiro on the issue of circumcision.

The two came to an agreement on Twitter to have a conversation about the issue, which Yang is opposed to.

'Would be happy to have a convo - my team will follow up,' Yang tweeted to Shapiro.

'Terrific! Look forward to it,' Shapiro replied.

No date has been announced yet.

Shapiro discussed Yang's long-shot candidacy on his radio show Tuesday, describing Yang as a candidate with ‘millennial appeal’ who is 'developing a cult following.’

Yang, who is polling at about 1 percent, has garnered attention for his detailed campaign platform - particularly his call for a universal income plan - but recently came in the spotlight for coming out against circumcision.

Millennials in particular have been drawn to his idea to give every individual a $1,000 in income. He's also promoted universal health care and a government ombudsman.

Shapiro joked Yang's policy page 'has more positions than the karma sutra.'

But, Shapiro added: ‘He does have an unfortunate habit of sounding off on weird issues.'

The author of the new book 'The Right Side of History' made it clear he supports the act of circumcision.

'A s an orthodox Jew I have a continued interest in the continuation of circumcision,' he said.  There is a ceremonial aspect to the procedure in the Orthodox Jewish faith.

Yang, a father of two, claims the procedure is 'pushed' on parents of newborn baby boys.

'It's sort of pushed on parents in many situations,' he told the Daily Beast earlier this week.

He said if elected president he would push initiatives that would inform parents they don't need to have their infants circumcised for health reasons.

He noted he is supportive of circumcision opponents who call themselves 'intactivists' - a reference to their desire to keep penises 'intact.'

'I'm highly aligned with the intactivists,' Yang said. 'History will prove them even more correct.'

Yang did not address whether he was circumcised himself but did say his wife convinced him not to have the procedure formed on their sons.

'From what I've seen, the evidence on it being a positive health choice for the infant is quite shaky,' said Yang.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says circumcision can reduce the chance of sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infections.

Yang, 44 and a son of Taiwanese immigrants, has garnered enough donations to qualify for the June Democratic primary debate.

It remains to be seen if circumcision will be a topic on the debate stage. The presidential contenders have already been asked about slavery reparations, the abolishment of the electoral college, expanding the Supreme Court, and the legalization of marijuana.

Yang, a businessman, founded Venture for America, a fellowship program for entrepreneurs.

His presidential website outlines about 80 different policy positions, including everything for a  $1,000-a-month 'freedom dividend' to every adult in America to legalizing marijuana to the American Malls Act, a proposal to revitalize shopping centers' value to the local community.

More than 66,000 donors have contributed over $350,000 to his long-shot bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
