A man has been arrested in Albania on suspicion of killing a builder on a construction site in central London last year.

It was originally thought John Woodward, 47, fell from the building in the capital's Hatton Garden diamond district in April 2018.

But a post-mortem on April 19 gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

The Metropolitan Police said a 22-year-old Albania national was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was picked up by Albanian authorities in the city of Durres on Thursday, following an international extradition request.

The man remains in custody pending further work as part of the extradition process, the force said.

Mr Woodward's family have been informed of the developments, it added.

A murder probe was launched in April last year after police responded to reports of a man injured on the roof of a commercial building.

The Met said it was called by the London Ambulance Service to the roof of the Pressman Mastermelts building on April 17.

Mr Woodward was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on April 18 last year and questioned.

But he was subsequently released over the murder offence and then re-arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The case against him has since been dropped, the Met revealed.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
