«Breaking News» Veteran cop is demoted for posting racist video where he taunts a young black woman

A Detroit police officer has come under fire after filming a woman, whose car he had towed, walking home in the freezing cold.

Footage posted on Tuesday shows officer corporal Gary Steele from the Detroit Police Department use condescending remarks as he films 23-year-old Ariel Moore walking away from her car near Stout Street and Joy Road on Detroit's west side.

During the video, which was posted on Snapchat with headline 'what black girl magic looks like', Steele is heard saying 'bye Felicia' as the woman walks away with her back to the camera.

During the clip, Steele follows Moore with his camera as she sets off on foot in below-freezing temperatures after being told to leave her vehicle.

As the clip plays on, one of the officers inside the car says the young woman is doing the 'walk of shame' before Steele signs off with 'bye Felicia'.

A sticker added to the video also reads 'celebrating Black History Month.'

Moments before the footage was filmed, the officer had pulled Ms Moore over for having an expired registration.

He then told the driver she would have to leave her vehicle and offered to give her a lift home.

However Ms Moore declined the offer and decided to walk a block home.

Ms Moore told WXYZ Detroit: 'I’ve never had this happen to me in my life. I’m kind of shocked — I don’t really know how to feel right now. I’m still trying to take it in.'

Ms Moore's mother, Monique Mobley, added: 'What they put on there, that’s racist. They’re demeaning my child for no reason.'

During a press conference on Thursday police chief James Craig said the post was a very 'bad decision'.

According to the Metro Times he said: 'I’m angry because this was a racially insensitive post.'

He also shared with reporters how he called Moore's mother to offer a personal apology following the incident.

This is not the first time the police officer has fallen on the wrong side of the law.

In 2008, Steele was arrested after firing a gun at his girlfriend in a domestic attack.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
