Conservationists have captured a rare look at an elusive ocelot in the Arizona wild.
Stunning footage from remote sensor cameras in the southwest United States shows multiple views of a wild cat nicknamed ‘Lil Jefe’ as he sips from a creek and passively takes in his surroundings.
The footage comes at what experts say is a ‘critical point’ in ocelot conservation; the striking felines have long been subject to poaching and habitat loss, and now face mounting threats from plans for a border wall between the US and Mexico.

Conservation CATAlyst released the incredible footage on Sunday.
According to the researchers, these wild animals are ‘exceedingly rare,’ and only five individuals have been verified in Arizona since 2009.
These cats can be found in tropical and subtropical regions of North and South America, with Arizona being the northernmost territory in their range.
‘Captured by remote sensor cameras just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, this extraordinary footage provides a rare glimpse of one of North America’s most mysterious wild felines,’ Conservation CATalyst said.
‘These invaluable videos document a wild ocelot (affectionately referred to as Lil’ Jefe – the ‘boss-elot’) acquiring all the necessary resources he needs to survive and thrive in Arizona, and they are vital for northern ocelot recovery.
‘This is the first ever publicly released trail camera video of an Arizona ocelot, and it comes at a critical point in this cat’s conservation.’
Sonoran ocelots faced severe population threats during the mid-20th century, when they were commonly hunted for their unique pelts and captured for the exotic pet trade.
Efforts in the 1970s and 80s led them to be protected under the Endangered Species Act, and the wild cats’ population has since bounced back in many areas.
But, conservationists say they’re not yet in the clear, as habitat destruction from industrial mining and highway activities continues to threaten their survival.

Despite legal protections, the cats still face risks from poachers; a single ocelot coat can sell for more than $40,000.
And, a planned border wall dividing the US and Mexico would run right through their habitat, in what could be a critical blow to their conservation.
According to Conservation CATalyst, ‘mounting border-related disturbances and barriers, including the U.S/Mexico border wall,’ are now among their top direct threats.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
