«Breaking News» Teenage girl, 16, who was pushed off a bridge describes long recovery

The teenage girl who was pushed off a bridge by her friend last summer in a horrifying video which left her with six broken ribs and two punctured lungs has spoken out to tell of her long recovery and her conflicted feelings towards the girl who shoved her.

Jordan Holgerson, 16, was pushed by her friend Taylor Smith from the Moulton Falls Bridge in Washington state last August.

Holgerson was standing on the ledge and had planned to jump but backed out at the last second. Her friends were recording a video of her at the time.

She fell 60ft, smacking the water with her chest-first, and was rushed to the hospital.

The speed at which she fell meant that when she hit the water, she would have suffered the same impact as if she had been hitting concrete, according to experts.

Smith, who at 18 was two years older than her friend at the time, was charged with reckless endangerment afterwards and her case has dragged on since.

This week, prosecutors said they had reached a plea deal with her attorneys.

It is not clear how much prison time she would serve under the deal, if any.

The maximum term she was facing was one year behind bars.

In an interview with Today on Tuesday, Holgerson said she had mixed feelings about how she wanted her friend to be punished.

'Certain days I kind of want her to be put in jail but some days I think that might be a little too harsh,' she said.

She said she had been hoping for 'justice' but that she is now eager for the case to draw to a close.

'So in court I was kind of hoping for justice and her being sentenced and everything just kind of being over because it's been a long process,' she said.

The teenager added that she still suffers pain in her ribs as a result of the incident.

'Because ribs take so long to heal, every once and a while I'll turn and they'll pinch and hurt,' she said.

Her family said earlier this week in court that they were 'OK' with the offer prosecutors had put forward.

Smith, who is now 19, previously spoke out to say she was sorry for hurting her friend and that she had never intended to cause her pain.

'I never intended to hurt her ever, nor would I intend to hurt anyone, ever. I'm sorry it worked out that way.

'I accept the charges maturely and all I can do is hope for the best for Jordan and myself,' she said last year.

In the video, Jordan is filmed standing on the ledge, shaking with nerves as her friends count down for her to jump into the water.

She backed out at the last minute and stood nervously, saying nothing, as they encouraged her.

A young woman's voice can be heard saying 'I'm going to push you,' at one point. It is not clear if that voice was Smith's.

The push was not a forceful one but was enough for the teen to lose her balance and fall as the others gasped in disbelief.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
