«Breaking News» Richard Madeley demonstrates how to use a male BREAST pump on Good Morning Britain

Richard Madeley showed how to use a male breast pump but he admitted he thought the idea of men helping out with breastfeeding was 'absurd' on GMB.

The Good Morning Britain presenters discussed the new prototype for a 'chest-feeding' kit which claims to make men lactate so they can breastfeed their newborn.

During Tuesday's segment, the 62-year-old demonstrated how to use the kit by placing the cup over his chest but he ruled out 'breastfeeding' on television.

The television personality explained how the prototype worked, although he flat out refused to 'breast' on morning television.

Richard said on Good Morning Britain: 'Through hormone therapy [men] will be able to make milk. We've got nipples.

'If you think I'm breast-feeding on Good Morning television... This is the kit, it fits over the breast. I was going to say the t*t and sucks out the milk.'

While he participated in the demonstration, Richard freely voiced his opinion that he felt the idea was 'completely absurd'.

Richard told his co-host Kate Garraway: 'I think it’s absurd to be honest with you. It’s completely absurd.

'It's not what men are built for, it's what women are built for, and there have to be gender differences. We can’t blur the differences to that extent.'

London-based student Marie-Claire Springham, from Central Saint Martin's, designed the prototype for chest-feeding.

After finding out his partner is pregnant, the man would have to commit to taking progestin, which is a version of the female hormone progesterone, once a day.

This hormone would stimulate the milk producing glands which are triggered in a female body preparing to breastfeed.

The dad will also need to take domperidone, a hormone which stimulates the production of prolactin and prescribed to mums struggling to feed their newborn.

Domperidone would only need to be taken for the last six weeks of his partner's pregnancy, according to Marie-Claire.

In October last year, 24-year-old Marie-Claire explained how she would ensure the dad's body is ready to release milk by the time the baby is born.

She told The Sun Online: 'I was trying to create an empathy tool, something that could really help when a mum was struggling to breastfeed and could help a dad be of practical use.

'Those two drugs put together create three of the four hormones necessary for a man to produce milk.

'The last one is oxytocin which is what triggers the "let down reflex" and that's naturally produce when a man or a woman holds their child.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
