Nebraska running back Maurice Washington has been charged in California with 'revenge porn' for allegedly sending a video to his ex-girlfriend that shows her being sexually assaulted. And because the alleged victim was 15 at the time the video was made, Washington has also been charged with a felony count of distributing child pornography.

According to NBC's Bay Area affiliate, Washington is not in the video and is not the person who recorded it. He is not accused of being involved with the attack. The victim, who is now 18, spoke to the network along with her father on the condition her last name not be revealed.

Washington is alleged to have sent the video to the young woman last March when he was in high school, still angry that she had broken up with him.

Washington reportedly sent her the video with the message, 'Remember this hoe (sic),' according to the NBC affiliate.

'I just wanted to congratulate him on a successful football career and see how he is; he wasn't getting what he wanted out of the conversation,' the young woman said. 'Maybe I wasn't being nice enough. He was trying to get something out of me. I think that irritated him and that's when he sent me my rape video.

'It broke my heart,' she said.

A warrant has been issued for Washington's arrest. He faces extradition back to Santa Clara County.

Washington had a productive first season with the Huskers, gaining 455 yards on 77 carries, and adding three touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 221 yards and a score. Washington was ranked by ESPN as the 93rd-best prospect in the country as a senior in high school

NBC Bay Area also reported that Nebraska officials were aware of the charges last fall but allowed Washington to play.

Neither Nebraska coach Scott Frost nor the university had issued a statement as of Monday afternoon.

Washington and the girl dated for eight months when he was a freshman at The King's Academy High School in Sunnyvale, California, the TV station reported.

'I tried so hard to forget it, and then to have someone just throw it back in my face like that and taunt me with it was just so evil,' the young woman told NBC Bay Area. 'Maybe that's the wrong word to use, but I felt like it was evil, like why would you ever want somebody to feel that pain that I felt that day?'

She said she was assaulted by two 17-year-olds in 2016 and did not engage in consensual sex with either. She explained to NBC Bay Area that she was unaware of the video until students began sharing it at school.

Although she never filed rape charges, the young woman went to police after the video surfaced and one of the alleged attackers was eventually put on probation for distribution of child porn.

'When it first happened, it was a big emotional trauma for me and I just wasn't ready to deal with it,' she told NBC Bay Area. 'I know a lot of people think that, "well if something really did happen to you, you would have been angry and you would have gone down and done something," but that's not the emotion I was felt at all.

'I was not angry at them,' she continued. 'I felt dirty. I felt like "why would someone ever do that to me?" I should have known that this is not something that you just cry for one day over and get over.'

As her father told NBC Bay Area, 'my daughter has been through hell; and she is still trying to climb out of that pit.'

Washington was not among the alleged attackers, and his attorney addressed the matter.

'This is a situation involving an inappropriate cellphone video,' attorney John Ball said Monday in a statement to the Lincoln Journal Star. 'The allegations are that Mr. Washington sent that video to his high school girlfriend. Mr. Washington did not make the video, nor does he appear in the video.'

Ball said Washington has cooperated with the investigation and is 'in the process of making arrangements to move forward and resolve this matter.'

'It's too frequent,' her father said, speaking of revenge porn. 'This happens all the time. It does in our society. Men treat women terribly, it starts at a young age and if it's not corrected early, it gets worse and worse and worse.'

Washington had a productive first season with the Huskers. He played in 11 games and gained 455 yards on 77 carries, adding three touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 221 yards and a score.

He was ranked by ESPN as the 93rd-best prospect in the country as a senior in high school.

'Freshman year he was on varsity,' the alleged victim said of Washington. 'Every game, the ball was just to him. He'd be running, score a touchdown. Everyone's crazy, everyone loves Maurice. He's perfect.'

Washington transferred away from School of The King's Academy, where he and the alleged victim both attended, before enrolling at Nebraska.

In a statement, TKA head Scott Meadows addressed the alleged rape from 2016.

'The incident in question did not happen during school hours, nor did it happen on school property,' he said. 'We can confirm that two students made a video during an off-campus encounter with another student, but school officials did not view the video.

'Instead, we referred the parents of the alleged victim to their local police department because of her age and because this happened after school hours. I would also add that Maurice Washington was not a student at The King’s Academy at the time that this incidence arose. He withdrew to attend Oak Grove High School. His last day at TKA was February 11, 2016.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
