Jeremy Corbyn spoke to supporters in Anna Soubry's constituency of Broxtowe today
Jeremy Corbyn has blasted the Independent Group's new ex-Labour MPs saying that 'walking away from our movement achieves nothing.'
The politician spoke to his supporters in Beeston, which which falls in Anna Soubry's constituency of Broxtowe, this afternoon.
His speech comes after nine members of the Labour party left this week and a new group of MPs from both his party and the Conservatives was formed.
Speaking at the rally Mr Corbyn said: 'Our party has had an interesting few days. I've had a very interesting week in politics.
'I'm obviously very sad at some of the things that have happened and very sad at some of the things that have been said.
'Walking away from our movement achieves nothing. Not understanding where we have come from is a bad mistake.
'Because when people come together in a grouping, in a community like the Labour Party, there's nothing we can't achieve together for everybody.'
During the short speech Mr Corbyn also accused Theresa May of trying to 'run down the clock' on Brexit and called for her to resign and call a general election.

Mr Corbyn slammed the Prime Minister at the event saying the Brexit deal she has arranged with the EU is not 'acceptable in any way.'
He said: 'It does not protect the rights, doesn't protest the jobs, doesn't guarentee investment.
'And doesn't actually protect anything for the future except in my view the danger of leaving us open to trade deals with people such as the United States which would damage a lot of our interests in this country.'
Mr Corbyn went on to 'congratulate' Mrs May on her 'two records' of being found in contempt of parliament as a government and to losing a key vote by the biggest ever majority in parliamentary history.
He then declared: 'I think she should have a third record and be the quickest ever Prime Minister to resign and call a general election.'
During the short speech Mr Corbyn also talked about jobs, anti-semitism and racism.

He said that he still 'believes in unity of Labour movement and our communities' despite tensions with the EU and across Europe.
He mentioned 'frightening' trends of the growing alt-right in Germany, Austria and Hungary and told the crowd: 'I want a relationship with people across Europe.'
Adding: 'They're not my enemy's and not yours. European people are our friends.'
Mr Corbyn mentioned anti-semintism during his speech, which comes after nine Labour MPs left the party this week.
He said: 'Being racist is wrong, out of order and anti-semitism is not acceptable in any form, anyway, anywhere within our society.'
Labour's prospective parliamentary candidate for Broxtowe Greg Marshall also spoke at the event today.
He said: 'Where is Anna Soubry? Jeremy Corbyn is in Broxtowe more than she is.
'In all seriousness, I want to know where Anna Soubry is ... we deserve to ask her some questions.
'I want to say to Anna Soubry... how can she stand beside Theresa May not two years ago and say 'she is the answer to a strong and stable government'?
'I say to Anna Soubry, you need to stand aside and do the right thing by the people of Broxtowe - you need to call a by-election.'
Mr Marshall was asked by a member of the crowd: 'What about the people's vote, Greg?'
Mr Marshall chose not to answer the question and instead introduced shadow justice secretary Richard Burgon to the stage.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
