«Breaking News» 'I hope I've become a better person': Aziz Ansari finally addresses sexual misconduct claims

Aziz Ansari is finally addressing the sexual misconduct claims that broke last year and caused him to flee from the spotlight.

The Master of None creator laid low following the allegations made by a 24-year-old New York photographer who accused the comedian of repeatedly pressuring her to have sex when they went on a date in September 2017.

The comedian addressed the bombshell accusations during a pop-up show in New York on Monday saying he hasn't been talking about the ordeal because he wanted to process it and find the right words to say in response.

'It's a terrifying thing to talk about,' he said to the crowd of 200 people.

About 18,000 signed up to try and nab a seat at his show at the Village Underground, the Comedy Cellar's sister venue in New York City. No filming was allowed inside and guests placed their phones in locked Yondr pouches.

'There were times I felt really upset and humiliated and embarrassed, and ultimately I just felt terrible this person felt this way,' he said with a quivering voice, according to Vulture.

'But you know, after a year, how I feel about it is, I hope it was a step forward. It made me think about a lot, and I hope I've become a better person,' he said.

Ansari said after the scandal, a friend told him he was forced to rethink every date he had ever been on.

'If that has made not just me but other guys think about this, and just be more thoughtful and aware and willing to go that extra mile, and make sure someone else is comfortable in that moment, that's a good thing,' he said.

'I think it also just gave me perspective on my life,' Ansari said.

The allegations and scandal made the comedian fear for his career.

'There was a moment where I was scared that I'd never be able to do this again,' he said.

Ansari revealed that he'd always close out his stand-up shows saying 'Thanks so much!' but didn't really mean it. It was just the protocol.

'But now, I really mean it on a different level. You canceled whatever you were supposed to do tonight, and you came out in the cold, and you waited in line, and you put your phone in a stupid pouch,' he said.

'You did all this s**t just to hear me talk for an hour and some change, and it means the world to me, so thank you so much,' he added.

Aziz was one of the most popular faces in comedy famous for his roles on Parks and Rec but fled from public view after women's newsite Babe published the account of a 23-year-old New York photographer.

The woman spoke to the website on the condition on anonymity. She said she met Ansari at an after-party for the Emmys in Los Angeles on September 17, 2017 and they bonded over having the same type of camera.

The following week they went on a date that started off with him ignoring her drink choice and allegedly escalated into him repeatedly pressuring her to have sex.

'He probably moved my hand to his d**k five to seven times,' she said. 'He kept doing it after I moved away.'

'It was 30 minutes of me getting up and moving and him following and sticking his fingers down my throat again. It was really repetitive. It felt like a f***ing game.'

She said she couldn't say whether Ansari was just clueless or actively ignoring her signals.

The next day Ansari allegedly texted her 'It was fun meeting you last night'.

The woman responded: 'Last night might've been fun for you, but it wasn't for me. You ignored clear non-verbal clues; you kept going with advances.

'I want to make sure you're aware so maybe the next girl doesn't have to cry on the ride home.'

Ansari allegedly replied: 'I'm so sad to hear this. Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I'm truly sorry.'

Ansari is currently on a US tour and will head to Europe to tour in March.

Netflix has said its open to a third season of Master of None but nothing official has been said yet.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
