«Breaking News» Decorated police officer charged with raping boy, 13, after meeting him through Grindr

A Massachusetts police officer has been accused of raping a 13-year-old boy in a park during a Grindr-related encounter.

Officer Carlos Vieira, 49, of Lawrence, Massachusetts was in court Tuesday to plead not guilty to two counts of statutory aggravated rape of a child and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 after allegedly meeting the eighth grader through the dating app last summer.

Assistant Essex District Attorney Kim Faitella said that the 13-year-old boy, who is not being named, claimed he rode his bike to Mount Vernon Park to met Vieira — a father and Marine Corps veteran — at 10pm one summer night.

Court documents stated that the alleged rape occurred in the back of Vieira's black SUV and that after the incident, the boy attempted to access Vieira's Grindr profile, but that he could not longer view it, according to the Boston Herald.

Faitella told the judge that at the time of the alleged rape, the boy 'did not know that the person was a police officer'.

It wasn't until September 13, 2018, that the boy realized the his alleged attacker was a cop, after seeing and recognizing Vieira who was directing traffic at an intersection, while in a car with his aunt.

The boy said he 'became nervous and was shocked that he was a police officer', Faitella said, adding that the boy then ducked out of sight and pretended to tie his shoe.

The boy didn't tell his mother about the alleged rape until January. When she finally learned about what happened, she consulted a lawyer who then reported the alleged rape to the DA instead of police, according to CBS Boston.

During the month-long investigation, the boy was said to have '100 per cent' identified Vieira from an array of photos.

Faitella said that 'some items were recovered' from Vieira's home after search warrants were executed on Monday and his vehicle was seized for processing.

Vieira is said to have a black 2010 Chevrolet Suburban registered under his name.

The judge ordered that Vieira remain in custody while awaiting a dangerousness hearing scheduled for March 1. He is being held without bail.

During a taped interview on Monday, Vieira was said to have admitted to having used Grindr in the past, as well as to having been on duty on the day that the supposed victim claimed to have recognized him directing traffic.

Vieira's lawyer, Gil Nason, said the wrong man was arrested for the alleged rape.

Vieira, who has a daughter, has been 'a police officer for 20 years, has had numerous commendations, including valor, where he saved people.

He’s also been named Cop of the Year at least twice,' Nason said after the arrangement, according to the Boston Herald.

Nason said that to his knowledge there was no DNA or forensics evidence in the case and that it's 'just and I.D. of somebody saying something,' noting that 'identification is going to play a major role' as the investigation continues.

He also said that 'This will play out' and called it 'an accusation.'

Meanwhile, Nason said that he is concerned about Vieira's safety while he's being held, as 'Probably half the people in Middleton (Jail) he may have put there.'

Vieira has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation, but, if the accusations are 'determined to be true, 'we will act quickly to remove the officer involved,' Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera said in a statement obtained by NBC 10.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
