Meanwhile, Taron recently revealed that he 'loved every second' of filming a sex scene with his Rocketman co-star Richard Madden, 32.

Speaking to MTV, the actor said: 'I really threw myself into it, I filmed my first sex scene for this film and it's with quite a well-known man.

The film sees Taron play icon Sir Elton John, 71, during his rise to fame in the 1970s, during which time he was managed by John Reid (Richard), who was also his lover.

Revealing his hopes for the movie, Taron added: 'I do feel the movie we shot is absolutely a celebration of everything that Elton John is and part of that is his sexuality.

'I actually think the gay community will be quite surprised by quite how gay it feels. I've loved every second of it.'

Reid worked with Sir Elton for 30 years and the couple were in a relationship for five, however, the relationship ended bitterly with a court battle over Elton's finances.

While the actor also told Bang Showbiz: 'I probably shouldn't be telling you this but we have a sex scene. We went to some places together and got quite physical.'

Labelled a 'true fantasy', the film is co-produced by Sir Elton, alongside his husband David Furnish, 55.

The film also stars Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin, who wrote a catalogue of hits with John, while Bryce Dallas Howard and Steven Mackintosh play his parents.

Director Dexter Fletcher previously told Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye: 'It's about Elton navigating personal and family relationships.

'He looks for love in all the wrong places, he abuses himself with drugs and booze – yet he's a genius who has survived for over half a century in showbusiness.'

Producer Matthew Vaughn added: 'This film is going to make people's jaws hit the ground, Elton just said "Tell it all. Go as R-rated as you need to". And we do just that, with his blessing. The flaws and the genius are all there.'

Although the movie, written by Lee Hall, is based on fact, some of Elton’s story has been fictionalised, while Welsh-born Taron does his own singing.

The film is slated for release in the UK on May 31 2019, and in the USA on May 17.

Donning ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
