Nigella has posted a series of emotive tweets about bereavement in an bid to help others suffering from feeling so alone.
She also discussed how well-meaning people around her can get it wrong when they wish her a 'better year next year,' as if the person she loved would no longer be dead.
The 58-year-old has lost her husband, mother and sister to cancer in previous years and may have lost someone close to her more recently.
Sadness: Nigella has shared an emotive post about bereavement... as she admitted she envies anyone that 'doesn't yet know about grief or loss'
Nigella's husband John Diamond passed away in March 2001 from throat cancer.
'Looking at this photo makes me happy, but also very sad. I wish I could be in John’s arms now.'
Speaking her mind: Nigella spoke about how others don't know how to handle the grief of those who have lost a loved one
Her mother died of liver cancer aged 48, and she lost her sister, Thomasina, to breast cancer aged just 32.
She tweeted: 'Sending so much to those who have been bereaved this year.
'One of the most infuriating things is when people wish you "a better year next year” as if the person you loved and who died would somehow no longer be dead.
'And it’s hard anyway to see the calendar turn without them, too.'
Back in September, Nigella shared a throwback photo of herself with John, writing that she wished she could be in his arms (stock photo)
After receiving messages from people who have also lost loved ones in the past, she continued:
'Yes, it is so important to the bereaved for people to speak of the person who died.
'When people ignore or avoid, it’s making their discomfort count for more than the grief of the bereaved.
'And it’s not as if one forgets about the person who died if no one mentions her or him.'
Nigella acknowledged that it's no one's fault that people don't know what to say to her or others, and she envies anyone who does not know grief.
She said: 'While it’s infuriating, it’s not villainy on the part of the people who don’t know what to say.
'They are the lucky ones, and to be envied really; it means that they have not known loss or grief yet.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
