A New Jersey man was finally arrested Tuesday, more than two years after he was wanted by police for eating a woman's beloved pet fish and taunting her with an image of in his feces.

Maxwell Taffin was called to answer for his actions after the incident on October 22, 2016 when the unnamed female allowed the man – who was 18 at the time – to stay in her Louisiana State University dorm room along with two of his friends on the weekend of a Magnolia Bowl college football game.

But the unidentified victim was horrified to find her Siamese fighting fish was gone when she returned to her dorm at Blake Hall and allowed Taffin to collect his belongings before he told her: 'Check your fish tank'.

The cruel tease came after the group had enjoyed a day of tailgating at the LSU-Ole Miss football game at the Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge which LSU ended up winning.

It may have been a sad result for Taffin who attended the University of Mississippi – Ole Miss.

A message from Taffin's phone was later sent to the woman showing the fish among excrement in an unflushed toilet. It was accompanied by the caption: 'Found your fish'.

The accused admitted to the offense during a telephone call with authorities on October 24, 2016 according to an affidavit, he said: 'Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I ate (the victim's) fish.'

He is said to have devoured the animal when the woman momentarily stepped out of the room.

However Taffin appeared to shift some of the blame and told law enforcement at the time 'a lot of people' use his phone because it wasn't password protected.

The man was issued a criminal summons by Louisiana State University Police Department but failed to show up and his detainment this week proved his actions weren't too minor to be punished.

Now, 21, he was charged with cruelty to animals and improper telephone communications, WRBZ reported.

The Rumson-Fair Haven high school graduate has been in trouble with the law before; he got into hot water just months after the fish-eating incident.

Taffin was allegedly found with under 50 grams of marijuana in his car and failed to produce a driver's licence and insurance details when requested, leading to his arrest in May 2017.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
