«Breaking News» Danish police say fatal rail crash may have been caused by beer crates falling from Carlsberg train

Danish police say falling beer crates may have caused the train crash in which six people were killed as a Carlsberg freight train met a passenger train on a bridge linking the central Danish islands of Zealand and Funen.

Police are investigating whether the passenger train's abrupt braking was caused by crates of beer toppling from the freight train during stormy weather.

They confirmed as well as those killed, 16 were injured in the accident and that the passenger train had taken 'considerable damage' but were unable to confirm the exact cause.

The train was heading from the Funen city of Odense to the capital, Copenhagen, on Zealand.

A Carlsberg spokesman, Kasper Elbjoern says the company transporting the cargo 'has unfortunately confirmed that the freight train that was transporting our freight has been involved in the accident.'

Jesper Nielsen, a passenger on the train, told TV2 the train 'was out on the bridge when there was a huge "bang" ... and very quickly thereafter, the train braked.'

Denmark's TV2 showed images of a freight train with the tarpaulin that covered the train torn in pieces.

There were 131 passengers and three employees aboard the train, according to DR.

The Danish broadcaster said that police were urging survivors to contact their loved ones to let them know they are safe.

Police set up an evacuation centre in a nearby sports centre to shelter passengers.

The Storebaelt or Great Belt Bridge is part of bridges and tunnel link between the Danish islands.

Thousands of the commuters make the journey across the bridge everyday; Copenhagen is situated on Zealand.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
