«Breaking Pic News» Roxanne Pallett QUITS radio show following CBB punch scandal

Roxanne Pallett has quit her Breakfast radio show, which she began in February 2018, alongside Ben Fry.

The soap star, 35, has been at the centre of a media storm after branding her CBB co-star Ryan Thomas a 'woman beater' when he 'punched her' during a play fight and demanding he be removed from the Channel 5 show's house.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Emmerdale confirmed that they 'will not be bringing her back' to the soap and it has also been revealed that she has stepped down from her forthcoming panto, whilst Roxanne has reportedly vowed to turn her back on showbusiness amid the scandal.

Roxanne, who quit CBB and left the mansion on Saturday morning, has been met with a huge outcry in the wake of her 'punching' scandal.

And as she attempts to win back the public with interviews grovelling for forgiveness, it has been announced that she has been dropped from her radio presenting role.

A statement from the radio station said: 'As a result of discussions today with her representatives, Minster FM can confirm that Roxanne Pallett has stepped down from her position at the station with immediate effect to take some time out and reflect on recent events.

'Roxanne will not be returning to Minster FM,' it was concluded.

And despite the brunette admitting in 2016 that Emmerdale bosses had asked her to return to the show, a spokesperson for the show has revealed that it will never happen.

'There are no plans, nor have there been, to bring back the character of Jo Sugden,' it was announced.

Two years ago, Roxanne claimed: 'Emmerdale was everything an actor could dream of - it's one of my most cherished roles and I'd love to go back at some point.

'They asked me back a couple of years ago and it broke my heart because I was shooting a film. It was bad luck and bad timing,' she revealed.

It is also claimed that she has stepped down from her new panto role.

She was set to star in Cinderella at the Pomegranate theatre alongside former X Factor star Rhydian Roberts.

A spokesperson for Chesterfield council, which owns and manages the Pomegranate Theatre, told MailOnline: 'We are aware of the public and media reaction to Roxanne Pallett's recent appearance on Big Brother.

'The council is currently in talks with Paul Holman Associates.'

With Roxanne losing work at a rapid rate, it's said that is set to lose over £100,000 from lucrative acting roles.

Yet it seems Roxanne won't be looking for any more roles to cover the costs, as she is reportedly turning her back on showbusiness.

A source told The Sun Online: 'Roxanne will turn her back on showbiz. She understands she's upset many people and wants to step out of the spotlight to focus on herself.

'She's not interested in anything to do with fame now and is convinced time away is the best thing for her.'

MailOnline has contacted Roxanne's spokesperson for comment.

It comes as more than 2,200 Celebrity Big Brother viewers have called for the ex-Emmerdale star to be axed from the theatre show in an online petition.

Meanwhile, the former CBB housemate was quizzed by Emma Willis, 42, about her claims in the house in a 'savage' no-holds barred interview screened last night which set the internet alight.

Roxanne walked out of the Big Brother house in the early hours of Saturday morning after claiming Thomas punched her 'like a boxer would punch a bag' on Thursday night's episode.

Broadcast regulator Ofcom received more than 11,000 complaints over her claims as footage appeared to contradict her claims.

A staggering 21 former Emmerdale co-stars slammed the actress while many claimed she was making a 'mockery' of real abuse victims.

Responding to firm questioning by Emma, Roxanne said that she was 'devastated and sorry' and that she was 'scared about her future'.

She also told the presenter 'things in the past' have made her 'fragile'.

She said: 'I needed to come and tell everyone that I got it wrong, I'm human, I made a massive, massive, horrible mistake.'

When asked by Emma whether she felt she could be forgiven for the ordeal, the ex-Emmerdale star said: 'I would hope that I could be [forgiven].'

Meanwhile, viewers were left wondering why Jeremy Vine was so lenient towards Roxanne Pallett during her first tell-all apology on Monday.

And the broadcaster has now confessed the real reason he adopted a sensitive approach towards Roxanne, saying he was concerned she would 'take her life tomorrow'.

The actress appeared on the Jeremy Vine show on Monday morning to discuss the incident - and some fans felt she wasn't pushed hard enough.

Discussing his Monday interview with the star, Jeremy explained: 'I'm sitting here thinking, 'She could take her life tomorrow', and we've got all these people carrying pitchforks who probably want her to die, but it's not pitchfork journalism.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
