«Breaking Pic News» 'I'll never do breakfast radio again': Em Rusciano speaks out about quitting the air waves

She announced her resignation from 2Day FM on Monday, telling listeners she will be finishing up this week and not returning following the birth of her third child.

And embattled radio host Em Rusciano appeared on Studio 10 on Wednesday to reveal she would not ever be returning to breakfast radio.

Em, 39, told Studio 10 host Sarah Harris: 'I'm not going back.'

Em then looked directly at the camera and said: 'Do we have that on record? I'm not going back. Not to breakfast radio. At all.' 

She added: I'm just not built for that kind of lifestyle. And I don't want my kids to look back and always remember me as grumpy and tired.'

Em lamented the toll that the early starts had on her, saying: 'Come 4 o-clock [in the afternoon] I'm just a zombie. So I think I wanted to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy.'

The stand-up comedian announced that she was pregnant with her third child in early August. 

Rusciano and her husband Scott Barrow already have two children together - Marchella, 16, and Odette, 11. 

On Studio 10 on Wednesday, Em said that the last time she was pregnant she was on breakfast radio at Perth's 92.9 FM and barely had time for give birth.

In reference to breakfast radio in general, she said:' I'm just not built for that kind of lifestyle. And I don't want my kids to look back and always remember me as grumpy and tired'

'I worked the day I gave birth,' she said. 'In Perth. Nearly 12 years ago. I literally left the studio and went to the hospital. 

'I was back four weeks after I gave birth.'

Em said he felt pressured to go back to work at the time: 'I was the sole income earner and there was no maternity leave. We needed money. So I went straight back.'

When guest Denise Scott asked Em what the most challenging part of working in breakfast radio was, she said: 'The hours, and not swearing. And not being too opinionated.  

'I am polarising. Making myself be palatable to the general public was tough.'

Em did admit however that she is 'too much' sometimes, and that "shooshing" is required'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
