«Breaking Pic News» France stars Mbappe, Griezmann and Co gear up for clash with Germany

Didier Deschamps has warned his France side that they face a side still at the 'top level' in Germany on Thursday.

The world champions were being put through their paces at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening, with a number of their Russian heroes taking part.

Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe were both going through final preparations, while Paul Pogba was seen joking with Presnel Kimpembe.

But Deschamps says his side must be fully focused for their first game since their World Cup triumph over Croatia in July.

The Germans suffered a shock group-stage exit in the same tournament, their earliest in 80 years, and coach Joachim Low is under pressure to turn things around quickly for the four-times world champions.

'Germany were world champions. Germany were favourites at this World Cup as well,' Deschamps told reporters.

'It did not work out for them but the quality is there. They remain a top level team. I have a lot of respect for this team and for what it represents.'

But Deschamps believes that France, playing with all their big names in Munich, should have the edge.

'This title should give us power, power that gives us confidence, power that feeds us,' he said.

'Physically it is the start of the season and some of my players have started later. It was short preparation and in a month it would be better.

FRANCE FIXTURES

Thursday, September 6

Germany v FRANCE (7.45pm) Allianz Arena, Munich

Sunday, September 9

FRANCE v Holland (7.45pm) Stade de France, Paris

'It will be difficult but we have the advantage with the confidence capital from the title.'

France will be without captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the first game of the new tournament, with Paris Saint-Germain keeper Alphonse Areola is expected to start in his absence.

But for France defender Raphael Varane little has changed within the team.

'We do have a special status but I don think the second star on the shirt is too heavy,' Varane told reporters. 'It does not change our match preparation. We will keep the same values and ambitions.

'We cannot under-estimate Germany. They are as great team with great players and they will look to be as efficient as possible tomorrow.'

Antoine Griezmann...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
