«Breaking News» Brian McFadden jokes about mowing down a woman after his driving ban

Brian McFadden has sparked furious backlash on Twitter, after suggesting he'd run over a woman who told him of the dangers of his repeated speeding offences.

The former Westlife star, 38, took to Twitter on Friday to complain that he'd been slapped with a six-month driving ban and an £85 fine for 'doing 39 [miles per hour] in a 30 zone', after appearing in a Magistrates' Court in Nottingham.

But when a woman pointed out to the singer that the chances of somebody dying increase greatly once they're hit at 40 miles per hour, he shockingly responded: 'Then I'll make sure I'm doing 50 so I definitely won't have to listen to this.'

The comment sparked an avalanche of complaints from other Twitter users, prompting the Irishman to late delete his tweet.

Father-of-two Brian kicked things off when he tweeted: 'Just left court in Nottingham. I was clocked doing 39 in a 30 zone. 6 months suspension and £450 fine.

'Drunk driver crashed his car he got 12 months and an £85 fine. As far as driving to my gigs the prosecution suggested I tweet my followers for a left! Joke.'

His tone deaf tweet prompted a woman to respond: 'There's a reason the speed limit is 30mph. "If you hit me at 40 miles an hour, there's around an 80% chance I'll die. Hit me at 30 and there's around an 80% chance I'll live."'

After Brian's shocking response — and following the inevitable backlash — he deleted the tweet, but later returned to write: 'People on my feed make me laugh!!! Thinking I read it and take it to heart!! Your all gas. Loving life!!!' [sic]

However, the attacks over his harsh words piled in, with one Twitter user stating: 'Makes you laugh hearing people's stories of how speeding drivers killed their loved ones? Aren't you a great fella.'

'What a great attitude promoting speeding and openly bragging about it then complain when people challenge your behaviour such arrogance,' wrote another.

'You had tweets from families devastated by speeding drivers killing their loved ones.,' responded a third. 'Maybe you SHOULD take it to heart, and stop acting like a c**t who thinks he’s above the law. Just an idea.'

'It’s ok, you’ve shown you have no heart so no one thinks that,' said another outraged Twitter user. 'If you had any decency you’d apologise for being such a p***k — moaning about your DESERVED punishment, & then joking about running someone over. Instead, you keep it coming!? Keep digging that hole.'

In the summer, the star admitted to breaking the 30mph speed limit while in his Mercedes on the A610 on December 19, according to the Nottinghamshire Live.

However, his barrister Danielle Manson told three magistrates that the half-year driving ban could lead to 'exceptional hardship' with his venture Boyzlife, as he currently drives 'thousands of miles' to get to concerts with bandmate, Keith Duffy.

Brian received the six-month driving ban following the 'totting up' rule, because he already has nine points on his licence.

The Flying Without Wings hitmaker pleaded guilty to driving at 39mph in a populated, built-up area.

He told magistrates that the ban would have a huge effect on his career as he drives thousands of miles from his home in Rochdale to get to concerts.

'Last year, I drove 22,000 miles in my car for work, getting to gigs,' he offered as an example.

Brian's barrister Danielle stated that as well as his career, his bandmate Keith's could suffer, revealing: 'He drives many thousand of miles and may not get home until 2am. That is asking a lot of people who may drive him.

'Two recent concerts were in Wales and Birmingham and he had to drive home after.'

However, presiding magistrate Peter Forster stated: 'There are other ways to get around, like taxis.'

The case had been adjourned for six weeks so Brian could produce documentation from Keith on the effects of his career, if his bandmate were to be given the ban.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
