Michael Jackson used his guest role on The Simpsons to groom boys, showrunner Al Jean has said, following the announcement that the popular episode would no longer be featured in repeats.
The episode, called 'Stark Raving Dad', features the voice of the late pop singer who is accused of being a pedophile and of sexual misconduct during the height of his fame.
Showrunners announced the episode would be pulled amid renewed interest in Jackson following the HBO documentary 'Leaving Neverland' which featured alleged victims opening up about the abuse they suffered at the hands of the musician.

The allegations prompted concerns among the creators of the show, who now believe Jackson had a depraved hidden agenda in featuring in the long-running series.
'If you watch that documentary – which I did, and several of us here did – and you watch that episode, honestly, it looks like the episode was used by Michael Jackson for something other than what we'd intended it,' Jean told The Daily Beast.
'It wasn't just a comedy to him, it was something that was used as a tool. And I strongly believe that. That is my belief, and it's why I think removing it is appropriate,' Jean added.

In light of the damning new accusations, Jean said be believed it was the right thing to no longer syndicate the episode, despite admitting that he would suffer financially from the move.
He added: 'I think it was part of what he used to groom boys. I really don't know, and I should be very careful because this is not something I know personally, but as far as what I think, that's what I think. And that makes me very, very sad.'

There was some controversy when executive producer James L. Brooks announced that the episode would be pulled, but Jeans' comments suggestion the showmakers are in full agreement about the decision.
'The documentary gave evidence of monstrous behavior,' Brooks told the Wall Street Journal.
'The guys I work with – where we spend our lives arguing over jokes – were of one mind on this. It feels clearly the only choice to make.'
This isn't the first time an episode has been pulled. An episode from season nine titled 'The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson' was withdrawn from syndication for several years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, because the storyline involved Homer's car stuck between the World Trade Centre Twin Towers.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
