A feral cat that tested positive for rabies attacked two people and a police officer on Sunday in a small Florida town.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office were called to the Leesburg home at approximately 9.30pm and found that the stray brown tabby had attacked a family when it tried to enter their Westside Drive home.
'We opened the door, and it just ran inside,' a man, who lives in the home, explained to Click Orlando.

A man and a Leesburg police officer had to be rushed to the emergency room, where they were given injections to ward off the rabies
'It scratched him on the leg and in the stomach, and it bit one of my friends on the wrist,' a man at the house said about his brother, who was also attacked
The man shared that his brother screamed as soon as the cat ran inside the home.
'It scratched him on the leg and in the stomach, and it bit one of my friends on the wrist,' the man added.
Both the friend and a Leesburg police officer were transported to a local emergency room. There, they underwent multiple painful injections to fight off rabies.

The feral cat was taken to the Lake County Animal Shelter, where it was euthanized. After it was sent off, authorities learned that it had rabies.
'I was shocked. I didn't know it was a cat,' said neighbor, Kasey Crist.
Crist described that the area has had an increase presence of roaming and stray cats. She hopes that the local Animal Services handles the growing problem.
The Florida Department of Health issued a health alert, stating that it is best to stay up to date with rabies vaccinations for pets.
They also said people need to supervise their pets and make sure they don't come in contact with wild animals.
Other helpful tips include spaying or neutering pets, staying away from wild animals that are near garbage cans or litter, teaching children about wild animals and not adopting wild animals.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
