A Pride of Britain winner will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance covered on a treadmill in one week to raise $1million for charity.
Jamie McDonald, from Gloucester, has already spent the past 11 months taking part in 197 marathons in a coast-to-coast trip across America spanning 5,500 miles.
His trip will end on March 27 in Gloucester, Massachussetts, and just a month later his fundraising efforts will culminate in tackling yet another feat of endurance.
Mr McDonald, 32, who has already raised $1million (£760,000) in the past five years, hopes to smash current record of 513.97 miles in a week, held by Marcio Villar.
As a child, the adventurer suffered from a rare spinal condition called syringomyelia, which saw him spending the first nine years of his life in and out of hospital.

The condition, paired with a weak immune system and epilepsy, meant his health was so poor that his family feared he might lose his mobility altogether.
But at age nine his symptoms eased, allowing him to slowly become more active. The experience shaped Mr McDonald, and since then he has dedicated his life to raising money to help other sick children.
He said: 'I hope it's with another world record under my belt, but I have to be prepared for the fact that it might not be.
'I will need to run more than 73 miles a day for seven days to even equal the current record.
'The equivalent of three marathons a day for a week is terrifying, but I'll never be in better shape to try. I've run through freezing rainforest downpours and the Arizona desert summer.
'I've been caught up in a freak flood that devastated a town, camped in places surrounded by bears, cougars, mountain lions, spiders and snakes – if I didn't have video proof even I'm not sure I'd believe me! – and I've listened to some heart-breaking stories from the children I've met in hospitals over the last five thousand miles.
'But each injury and each twist and turn has only made me stronger and more determined.'
Mr McDonald's coast-to-coast trip began at the westernmost point of the United States – Cape Alava in Washington – on April 10, 2018.
Running in a superhero costume designed by one of his young supporters, Connor Reddy, Mr McDonald has made regular stops at the children's hospitals he is supporting along the way.
His overall goal is to ensure no child goes without treatment they need but can't access or afford.

Mr McDonald has been raising money for hospitals in each state he runs through, as well as the registered charity he co-founded and volunteers his time for - Superhero Foundation.
It grants money to families for treatment they might not otherwise be able to have, having given more than £300,000 out to children in need so far.
Mr McDonald added: 'I'm nearly at the end of the US leg of the challenge, but again, I can't count my chickens!
'I hope people will still continue to support me as I pick up where I left off in Gloucester, Massachusetts, after a couple of weeks in the UK with my family. All I can ask is, please do keep donating.
'My fundraising goal was $1million, and although we're some way off that right now, I'm still holding out hope we can get closer to it! Please keep sharing, and please keep believing that we can make the world a better place for sick kids everywhere.'
Jamie McDonald will make his world record attempt between 1pm on April 29 and 1pm on May 6, 2019, at Merchants Square in Gloucester Quays.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
