Former Today show host Karl Stefanovic has not appeared on Channel Nine since he was axed from the breakfast show in December.
But the network has confirmed This Time Next Year, fronted by the media personality, will mark the return of Karl to devoted viewers.
'This Time Next Year has been filmed and will screen later this year on Nine,' the spokesman told Daily Mail Australia this week.
Full steam ahead: Channel Nine's broadcast of This Time Next Year fronted by ex-Today Show host Karl Stefanovic (pictured) will go ahead later this year, the network has confirmed
Karl finished filming the second season of This Time Next Year at Sydney's Fox Studios in February, but no air-date had been promoted for its return.
Meanwhile, the embattled host has reportedly become almost 'friendless' at the network after 'liking' an Instagram post criticising the network's decision to sack him from the breakfast show after 13 years as its host.
One of the comments he 'liked' read: 'I can't wait until they realise it wasn't you that was the problem after all.'
Karl had claimed the Instagram 'like' had occurred as a result of his account being hacked while he was on a fishing trip.

The show's second season was announced last October amid rumours Karl was set to be replaced as co-host of the struggling Today program.
Following his axing in December, reports emerged that Karl had been hard at work on his fitness as he attempts to relaunch his TV career.
Two years remain on his contract, but with filming having wrapped for This Time Next Year it is reported he will retain his $2million pay packet having done just 'one week's work'.

'Nine are yet to announce what else they'll do with Karl this year, so as of now, he's getting an eye-watering $2 million for one week's work,' an insider has said.
There have also been rumours the journalist would anchor a late-night news show in competition with Channel Seven.
However, those claims were 'shot down by network bosses', The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Karl's head was the first to roll during Nine's Today show bloodbath late last year, with multiple departures of staff and restructuring of stars to other shows and roles.
The former Today host dropped from the breakfast program during his honeymoon with new wife Jasmine Yarbrough in December.

‘This Time Next Year has been...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
