«Breaking News» Nicole Kidman HANGS UP on Jackie O after she asks a cringeworthy question

Radio host Jackie 'O' Henderson accidentally upset one of Hollywood's biggest stars on Monday when a light-hearted question hit the wrong note. 

During a pre-recorded interview with actress Nicole Kidman, Jackie revisited an infamous press conference question from September about her 'favourite wig'.

But the Oscar winner, 51, didn't appreciate the joke and sternly explained that, contrary to popular belief, she doesn't often wear wigs on screen.

After the awkward question, Nicole swiftly ended her interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show and said she had to rush off for another radio appearance.

The interview itself mainly focused on promoting Nicole's new film Destroyer, in which she plays an alcoholic Los Angeles policewoman.

Things were going well until Jackie, 44, decided to end things on a 'lighter note' by asking about the cult following her wigs have attracted in recent years.

She began: 'I think there's a podcast dedicated to the wigs you wear in films, and I think a guy asked you about this at a press conference.

'He said something [like], "What's your favourite wig you've ever worn in your films?" And it did make me wonder... what is your favourite wig?' 

Nicole, sounding exasperated, replied: 'Well, I'm using my hair now, so... I think that's probably my favourite, is my own hair.'

As the interview went off the rails, Jackie glanced nervously around the studio before the Moulin Rouge! star decided to make a swift exit.

'Anyway, I've got to go because they're waiting at the other radio station which I'd better not say on your show,' she said, before hanging up the phone. 

Jackie looked deflated and laughed awkwardly after the exchange, which was all the more embarrassing as Nicole is supposedly a 'friend of the show'.

Meanwhile, KIIS FM listeners roasted Jackie on Twitter after the interview went to air, with one person tweeting: 'You blew it!' 

Another wrote: 'Could you get anymore personal or insulting? Not sure why Nicole didn't hang up sooner.'

The Kyle and Jackie O Show airs weekdays from 6am on KIIS 106.5 in Sydney

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
