«Breaking News» MAFS' Elizabeth Sobinoff  reveals extent of chronic illness which makes her hair fall out

Married at First Sight's Elizabeth Sobinoff was previously fat-shamed by her former 'husband' Sam Ball for eating chocolate for breakfast on the show.

And the 27-year-old has revealed how her battle with two chronic illnesses is the real reason for her unusual eating habits.

Speaking to 9Honey on Monday, the Sydney store manager said she was diagnosed with Porphyria and autoimmune disease (a mild form of Lupus) over a year ago - and one way to treat her illness is with a high-carb diet.

'Chocolate, I always have to have it in my handbag, Gatorade as well. With the blood condition, you lose electrolytes and your body dehydrates,' she said.

Symptoms for both illnesses include photo sensitivity, speech problems and hair loss, which prompted her to wear hair extensions.

'As a female, hair is important. It's hard when you wake up with clumps in your bed,' she said.

'Another thing is that it affects my speech. One of the reasons I speak so loud and fast is because it's how I cover it up. Otherwise I can't say the words properly or I might stutter and I can't push out the words.'

In January, Elizabeth, who gave up alcohol and coffee to improve her health, told Who magazine that her weight fluctuates by up to 6kg and she must avoid sunlight.

'I have photosensitivity. It's an autoimmune disease and is a mild cousin of lupus,' she said.

'I get a lot of the lupus symptoms and when I'm in a flare-up, I burn, as if you're holding fire to the skin. It's hard for me to even be near a window.'

Elizabeth was fat-shamed by Sam on MAFS after he complained about her weight by telling his friends she's 'bigger' than what he is used to.

He was also admittedly turned off after witnessing her eat chocolate for breakfast.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
