«Breaking News» J.K Rowling confirms Dumbledore and Grindelwald were in a 'passionate' and 'sexual' relationship

J.K Rowling has revealed that Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald's relationship had a 'sexual dimension' which was 'passionate' and 'intense'.

Harry Potter fans have long speculated about the status of the pair's relationship, especially since Rowling, 53, later confirmed that the Hogwarts headmaster was gay and in love with his former friend. 

However, nothing materialised in either the films or the books, with fans left to guess whether the dark wizard ever reciprocated Dumbledore's feelings.

Speaking in the Distinctly Dumbledore feature on the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Blu-Ray about the characters portrayed by Jude Law and Johnny Depp in the films, Rowling said: 'Their relationship was incredibly intense.

'It was passionate, and it was a love relationship. But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows really what the other person is feeling. You can’t know, you can believe you know.' 

She then revealed that she was 'less interested in the sexual side', adding: 'Though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship, than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships.'

Director David Yates also added his input, saying: 'This is a story about two men who loved each other, and ultimately have to fight each other. It’s a story for the 21st century.'

He added on the commentary track: 'I was very conscious of wanting to try to suggest that Dumbledore still held this affection for Grindelwald.

'There was not just regret, but there was still a love that existed between the two men.'

The Fantastic Beast franchise has so far failed to show any hint of a sexual relationship between the pair, with fans having to wait to see how things fan out in later films.

One things for sure, things between Dumbledore and Grindelwald will certainly sour, with avid readers of the book series already knowing the duo will come face-to-face in an epic dual set in 1945.

Back again: Eddie Redmayne is set to reprise his role as Newt Scamander in the third installment of the Fantastic Beast franchise

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second installment in the five-part Harry Potter prequal.

The next film already has a proposed release date, with Rowling confirming in December last year that she's finished writing the third one. 

Depp and Law are expected to reprise their roles, as well as Eddie Redmayne playing Newt Scamander.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
