«Breaking News» Jayme Closs kidnapper 'speaks out from jail' to say he loves the teenager

A man claiming to be Jayme Closs' jailed kidnapper has spoken out to describe playing board games and cooking with the teenager while he held her in captivity. 

Jake Patterson is behind bars awaiting his next court appearance on charges of kidnapping Jayme and murdering her parents in Wisconsin in October. 

Jayme, who was 13 when she vanished, escaped his home in January by fleeing when he went out for a few hours. 

She has since told police that he forced her to hide under the bed for hours at a time, including on Christmas Day when he was entertaining family.

On Friday, WCCO reporter Jennifer Mayerle, who had written to Patterson in jail asking him to call her, received a phone call from the jail where he is being held, asking her if she would accept the charge to speak to him.

A man claiming to be Jake Patterson, 21, called a local reporter in Minnesota on Friday claiming to say he 'loves' Jayme Closs and regretted kidnapping her. Patterson is yet to enter a plea on charges of murdering Jayme's parents and kidnapping her and holding her captive for three months

A man claiming to be Patterson then spoke with her briefly and said he 'of course' regretted snatching Jayme but that he 'loved' her and wanted to speak to her. He has not yet entered a plea.  

'Parts of me like really know I shouldn't be talking to you but I didn't want to cause any more trouble.

'I love her,' he said. 

He went on to say that in the three months he kept Jayme in his home, they were 'just like watching TV, playing board games and talking about stuff. 

'We cooked a lot, like everything we made was home made.' 

Jayme is recovering with family. 

'She has not been seen publicly since she escaped from his home and flagged down a dog walker to help her. 

She has released statements through her family to thank well wishers for their support and to ask for privacy. 

Patterson told police after his arrest that he targeted Jayme after seeing her get off a school bus. 

He had been driving home from a temporary job at a cheese factory when he saw her for the first time. 

The hunt for Jayme began in October after her parents, Denise and James, were found shot dead in their home. 

There was no sign of Jayme and a state wide hunt for her was launched. 

Three months later, she reappeared after flagging down a dog walker in the street. Patterson had gone out for a few hours and left her hiding under his bed. 

She decided to flee when he left and she did not hear him coming back. The dog walker took her back to her house and called 911. 

Patterson was taken into custody and soon afterwards made a confession to police.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
