«Breaking News» Gwen Stefani's wedding plans with Blake Shelton are ON HOLD

There have been rumors Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton want to marry soon. 

But a new report claims their nuptials are on hold for a very specific reason. Stefani, 49, has 'began the formal process' of getting her first marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale annulled, according to US Weekly.

An insider claims that she wants the annulment 'so she can marry Blake and have it be recognized by the church.'

'Gwen’s religion has always been extremely important to her, and Blake is completely supportive of this,' the insider added.

Stefani and Rossdale were married in 2002, after dating for seven years, before she filed for divorce in 2015, citing irreconcilable differences.

The former couple had three kids together, Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10 and Apollo, 5, with their divorce finalized in 2016.

Annulment laws vary from state to state, though there are a number of different grounds which annulments can be granted.

One ground is fraud, where one spouse was tricked into marrying the other, while others are duress and mental incapacity.

The Catholic church will annul a marriage if there is proof of defect of form, defect of contract, defect of willingness and defect of capacity.

Given that Stefani and Rossdale were married for 13 years, it's unclear what grounds Stefani may be seeking an annulment under.

While Stefani and Shelton, 42, who have been dating since 2016, have been ready to get married for quite some time, an insider claimed in February, 'there are obstacles they have to deal with' first.

The primary obstacle is where to live, since Shelton splits his time between Los Angeles, where he films The Voice, and his native Oklahoma.

Stefani lives in Los Angeles with her three sons, though while these details are being worked out, the couple is 'willing to wait' to make sure everything is right.

Shelton was previously married to fellow country music superstar Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015, and the couple had no kids.

Shelton is about to wrap up his Friends and Heroes tour, with three final performances.

Two are at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Hartfort, Connecticut on March 21 and 22, with the final performance on March 23 at Times Union Center in Albany, New York.

Stefani is currently on hiatus from her Just a Girl residency at the Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

The fourth of five legs of her residency is set to kick off July 5, with 10 shows that span through July 26.

The fifth and final leg of her residency runs from October 11 through November 2.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
