«Breaking News» Donald Trump Jr claims `elites´ are trying to stop Brexit

Donald Trump's son has blamed Theresa May and other 'elite' politicians for preventing Brexit taking place as promised on March 29 and said today: 'Democracy in the UK is all but dead'.

Donald Trump Jr said that EU withdrawal negotiations could have been completed in months but will stretch out for years because Theresa May failed to take his father's advice.

And he said the British people need to 'stand up for themselves against the global elite' to ensure that Brexit happens on time on March 29.

His intervention came a week his father deepened Mrs May’s Brexit misery by saying he was surprised at how badly negotiations had been handled and said it would have gone 'smoothly' if the PM had listened to him.

And this week Mr Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon slammed Mrs May for fumbling the Brexit talks, accusing her of 'not understanding' the negotiations.

Mr Trump Jr's comments, in an article for the Daily Telegraph, come just days after his father remarked that Mrs May had not listened to his advice on how to handle the Brexit process, which was now going 'badly'.

The article is certain to spark speculation over whether Mr Trump Jr's stance reflects the President's thinking.

The younger Trump said that Mrs May should 'honour' her oft-repeated promise to take the UK out of the EU on March 29.

And he raised the question of whether politicians' assurances that they would deliver Brexit were in fact 'a ruse', quoting unnamed pro-Brexit politicians as suggesting that the Prime Minister may in fact be trying to 'sabotage' the process.

'Since 2016, Prime Minister Theresa May has promised on more than 50 separate occasions that Britain would leave the EU on March 29 2019,' he said. 'She needs to honour that promise.

'But Mrs May ignored advice from my father, and ultimately, a process that should have taken only a few short months has become a years-long stalemate, leaving the British people in limbo.'

Donald Trump Jr, who is executive vice-president of the Trump Organisation, drew parallels between delays in delivering Brexit and the investigations into his father's alleged links with Russia.

'In a way, you could say that Brexit and my father's election are one and the same,' he wrote.

'The people of both the UK and the US voted to uproot the establishment for the sake of individual freedom and independence, only to see the establishment try to silence their voices and overturn their mandates.

'What we're seeing now in Washington, London and Brussels is the desperate, last-gasp attempt by those previously in power to cling on to what was once theirs in the face of an overwhelming mandate for change.'

He claimed that 'the elites control London from Brussels' and that, as a result, 'the will of the people is likely to be ignored'.

And he added: 'With the deadline fast approaching, it appears that democracy in the UK is all but dead.'

Last week Donald Trump said the process should have gone smoothly but the Prime Minister ‘didn’t listen’ to him and that he now hated to see Britain being ‘ripped apart’.

The US President also said he thought a second referendum would be ‘unfair’ to those that voted Leave as he dangled the prospect of a large-scale trade deal.

His characteristically undiplomatic intervention twisted the knife in a brutal week for the Prime Minister.

Speaking in the Oval Office alongside Irish premier Leo Varadkar, Mr Trump said he would not comment on Brexit, only to then say it is ‘tearing a lot of countries apart’.

He said: ‘It’s a very complex thing right now, it’s tearing a country apart, it’s actually tearing a lot of countries apart and it’s a shame it has to be that way but I think we will stay right in our lane.’

The President again claimed Theresa May had ignored his advice on how to handle the talks.

The Prime Minister has previously revealed that Mr Trump told her to ‘sue the EU’ and ‘not go into negotiations’.

Mr Trump said: ‘I’m surprised at how badly it’s all gone from the standpoint of a negotiation.

‘I gave the Prime Minister my ideas on how to negotiate it and I think you would have been successful.

‘She didn’t listen to that and that’s fine - she’s got to do what she’s got to do.

‘I think it could have been negotiated in a different manner, frankly. I hate to see everything being ripped apart now.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
