«Breaking News» Donald Trump fulfills dying man's last wish to speak to the president

President Donald Trump fulfilled a dying man's wish on Tuesday evening by giving him an encouraging phone call.

Jay Barrett, of West Haven, Connecticut, is terminally ill with cystic fibrosis and has just six months to live but was able to cross off his bucket list wish of contacting the president on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old is currently in palliative care after he left a hospital last weekend.

With help from his sister West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, who hails herself as a '100 percent Democrat', and the internet, his bucket list reached Washington and caught the attention of the president.

On Monday he was surprised with a phone call by Eric Trump and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regional chief Lynne Patton, and just when he thought things couldn't get better, he got a call from the man in office himself.

On Tuesday Trump called Barret and in touching video of their phone conversation the president is heard telling him 'you look handsome to me'.

'Alright Jay, You look handsome to me. I just saw a picture of you,' Donald Trump says at the start of the clip which Hoskie posted on Facebook.

Barrett gushes with joy and says 'Oh, you're giving me kind honors. I look like s**t.'

Trump laughed and asked 'How are you doing? How is it going Jay? ... You're a champ. You're fighting it right?'

'That's what the Irish do, right?' Barrett replied.

The president greeted Barrett saying: 'Alright Jay, You look handsome to me' and invited him to a rally where he'll sit front and center the next time Trump is in the New Haven area

'Yeah that's what the Irish do, you better believe it,' Trump echoed.

Barrett considered himself as an Independent for most of his life and voted for President Barack Obama in 2008 but upset with the Affordable Care Act turned red in the following election.

He said he fell in love with Trump's style at the launch of his campaign and became a Republican as a result of his policies.

Speaking to Trump he proclaimed his dedication to his administration.

'Mr. President, through thick and thin, you know there's been a lot of thicks, and there's been a lot of thins, I support you,' Barrett said.

'Trump responded saying: 'I wish you could come to a rally. I wish you could come. I know you like that stuff and I wish you could...It sounds like you have a great sister, Jay.'

Can't believe it! Barrett took to Facebook to gush about the dream phone call where Trump said: 'You're my kind of man, Jay. ... I'm very proud of you'

'If you could pencil me in, I'll find a way to get there,' Barrett swiftly responded.

Trump promised that when he hosts a rally nearby New Haven, Barrett will not just be invited, but will be honored with a spot front row and center.

Barrett told the president his original bucket list goal was to come to D.C. and meet the president in person. He added that he was planning on coming to D.C. 'between now and my expiration date.'

'You're my kind of man, Jay. ... I'm very proud of you. I'll talk to you again, Jay, OK? You keep that fight going. We both fight,' Trump said.

Trump said that he wrote a note to Barrett that he sent on to his sister.

'You just hang tough. We'll be talking from 10 years from now too,' Trump assured.

Barrett responded saying: 'I plan on voting for you in 2020' to which the president responded, 'you better'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
