«Breaking News» Dancing On Ice: Wes Nelson breaks down in tears over Megan Barton Hanson

He's about to battle it out for a place in the final as Dancing On Ice reaches its semi-final round on Sunday. 

But things got on top of Wes Nelson as he broke down in tears over his failed relationship with ex Megan Barton Hanson whilst talking about his chosen skate song.

The Love Island star, 20, has reached the semi-final of the ITV show alongside professional partner Vanessa Bauer, 22, and this week the contestants must pick a song that means something to them.

Wes chose the Luther Vandross hit Never Too Much, which was his parents wedding song.

But when speaking about his hopes to find a love like theirs, the star couldn't help the tears from falling when his thoughts turned to Megan, 24, from whom he split with earlier this year. 

Speaking in a VT ahead of his performance, Wes said: 'It's my parents wedding song. My mum and dad genuinely mean the absolute world to me. I can't even thank them enough for how much they've done for me. It's a big thank you to them really.'

He added: 'I think my mum and dad completely personify the word 'love.' Of course I've experienced love but I'd love to love like my parents do. 

'Me and Megs we had a really, really good bond and it makes me upset now to talk about it but it isn't great, and it was really, really difficult at the time.'

Dressed in a plain white t-shirt, the reality star was seen wiping the tears from his eyes as he struggled to contain his emotions over the sensitive subject.

Megan and Wes called time on their relationship in January, after just six months together.

Megan recently shared a cryptic post about being 'strong enough to let go' after her split from Wes.

The former exotic dancer appeared to be in a reflective mode as she shared the encouraging message with her social media followers, which read: 'Be strong enough to let go and wise enough to wait for what you deserve.'

TV personality Megan looked radiant in the stunning shoot as she accentuated her stunning features with minimal make-up, featuring lashes of mascara and nude lipgloss.

Opting for a softer appearance, the reality star smouldered at the camera as she held pink flower against her face.

With her light tresses styled into loose waves, the Essex bombshell ensured focus remained on natural look as she sported simple stud earrings.

The couple broke off their relationship after the blonde claimed Wes' DOI partner Vanessa orchestrated her own break-up with ex Louis Nathaniel in a bid to generate headlines ahead of their skating debut.

When asked if she and Wes kept in contact during an interview on Capital Radio, she simply stated: 'No.

'I think for me, because there wasn't like a sole reason why we broke up, it wasn't like I cheated or he cheated or anything majorly bad, we still loved each other, it was just circumstances, priorities, age, all of that.

'So for me, I just needed time to heal so I had to block him from everything just to focus on me, because I know what I'm like.

'If I was in that new flat by myself and I was a bit lonely I'd be like "Wes, what you up…" I can't keep going back. It didn't work for a reason, so I just need to be strong.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
