Showtime said Friday that 'after weighing a variety of factors, [it] has decided that 'SMILF' will not move forward for a third season. We remain extremely proud of the two seasons of SMILF, and thank Frankie Shaw for her singular voice and unique creation.'
The show was canceled less than three months after a bombshell story in The Hollywood Reporter detailing the accusations, which purportedly led actress Samara Weaving to exit the show following two troubling incidents with Shaw.
Employees of the show also complained to the Writers Guild of America that Shaw hadn't properly credited writers on the show, and that some staffers were divided into groups based on their race.
Shaw, speaking with Seth Meyers in January, said the series of events amounted to a learning experience.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
