«Breaking News» Cold case murder of loving mother, 29, who was raped and strangled may be solved after 24 years

Police have finally made an arrest in the 1995 cold case of a young mother who was murdered after a night out at a local bar.

Tammy Surber, 29, had been strangled and beaten before she was dumped on the side of the road, which is where police discovered the woman.

She was wearing just her bra and pants, which had been pulled down, and her body exhibited signs of sexual assault according to a probable cause affidavit filed in court last Wednesday.

Now, 24 years after her death, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested Carl Tyler after his DNA was a match to that found on the victim and his ex-wife provided them with a recording where he confesses to the murder.

Police at the time followed a few leads which revealed the woman had been out drinking at a bar earlier that night, but those leads lead nowhere, and for over a decade the case remain unsolved.

In 2008, DNA testing allowed them to test the semen found on Surber, and then begin scanning criminal databases for potential suspects.

Then, in 2011, police questioned Tyler after his DNA matched the semen that was found on the victim's leg.

He denied knowing anything of the murder and police were forced to let him go, with the DNA evidence not conclusive enough to warrant an arrest.

Things changed though when Tyler and his wife divorced last August, after what she claims was an abusive relationship.

In the wake of a January incident in which Tyler was arrested for domestic battery, the woman told police that her ex was responsible for the murder of Surber.

She said that Tyler not only threatened her life, but to convey how serious he was about killing her revealed he had been responsible for the murder of Surber.

That woman also recorded a conversation between herself and Tyler in which he appears to admit killing Surber in what he suggests was a drug deal that turned deadly.

Surber was found with cocaine in her system, but this would not explain the semen that was found on her leg.

Soon after Tyler's arrest last Wednesday, Surber's two daughters expressed how happy they were to learn that the mystery of who killed their mother might finally be answered.

'Thankful for closure, my mother deserved justice rest easy mom we love youuu,' wrote Surber's daughter Deanna on Facebook.

Her other daughter Shianna posted a link to the news and simply wrote: 'A day I won’t forget....'

Tyler has a lengthy list of offenses according to court records, including multiple arrests for drivign without a license, theft, domestic battery and child molestation.

He was sentenced to four years for that last offense in 2012 after making a plea deal int he case per court records.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
