«Breaking News» Celebrity Great British Bake Off: Russell Brand jokes about past drug use

He was an unlikely contender for the Great British Bake Off.

But Russell Brand not only won the first episode of the The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up 2 Cancer on Tuesday night, but he had viewers in stitches with some outrageous one liners. 

Competing against actor John Lithgow, fellow comedian Jon Richardson and Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, Russell didn't hold back on the Channel 4 show, dropping a jaw-dropping reference to his past drug use within the first five minutes.

Russell, 43, who had a highly-publicised battle with substance abuse, got to work measuring out his ingredients for the baking show's first task- the Signature Challenge which required them to bake a batch of brownies.

As he poured out his flour, Russell told the camera: 'I'm alright at measuring the smaller measurements, I took two grams out of that basically on instinct.'

The remark had viewers in hysterics, with one declaring: 'russell brand saying 'i took two grams on instinct' is the best thing i have ever heard on #GBBO.'

The star kept the jokes rolling as the group entered their final Showstopper challenge - unveiling a biscuit masterpiece of his wife Laura Gallacher giving birth - with a shortbread version of her vagina as the centrepiece. 

A whimsical Russell was quick to tell his colleagues that he was making a vagina, in homage to his wife, their two daughters and the miracle of birth, for the challenge which required the bakers to recreate their 'finest performance'.

He said: 'The female plays an integral role in the process of childbirth. That's why it was a good performance because of my acceptance in a secondary role.'

GBBO judge Prue Leith, 79, couldn't contain her shock, saying: 'You have got this great big vagina. It all sounds extraordinary.'

Paul Hollywood, 53, added: 'I have never heard of a biscuit quite like it.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
