«Breaking News» Celebrated chef Albert Roux quietly marries woman thirty years his junior in private ceremony

At 83, Albert Roux clearly still has the recipe for love.

The celebrated chef, who turned Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White into culinary stars, has quietly married for a third time.

Roux – who founded Le Gavroche, the first restaurant in Britain to be awarded three Michelin stars – tied the knot in a private ceremony with a woman understood to be three decades his junior.

‘I can confirm that Albert’s wife is called Maria and they married last year,’ his spokesman told the Daily Mail.

The couple made their first public outing this week at a Restaurant Association dinner at the Savoy Hotel in London, where Roux used a walking cane.

‘Maria was very attentive to Albert all evening,’ a guest said. ‘She has clearly given him a whole new lease of life.’

The spokesman declined to give Maria’s surname or any details of the wedding, which came four years after Roux divorced his second wife Cheryl Smith, a statuesque Zimbabwean 21 years his junior.

She had met Roux at an International Wine and Food Society dinner, a few years after his divorce from his first wife, Monique.

Cheryl, whose business success had earned her a £30million fortune of her own, later recalled how she had spurned his advances – initially, at least.

‘When I met Albert, he had seven girlfriends, two of whom believed they were living with him,’ she said. ‘I told him I would not be part of his harem.’

But Roux would not be rebuffed, seducing her with same meticulousness for which he was acclaimed in the kitchen.

After seven months’ relentless wooing, during which he assured her he had ‘unloaded’ his other women, Cheryl capitulated. They married in 2006.

But in 2013 the French chef became distracted by Nataliya Lutsyshyna, a 40-year-old Ukrainian who worked as a cloakroom attendant at the Roux restaurant in Parliament Square, Westminster.

Cheryl ordered Roux to leave their house in Belgravia and filed for divorce.

Born in Semur-en-Brionnais, Roux left school at 17 intent on becoming a priest – but almost immediately thought better of it, marrying Monique, his childhood sweetheart, the same year.

‘On reflection, I would have made a very bad priest,’ he has remarked.

With Monique, he had two children – son Michel Roux Jr, who now runs Le Gavroche in Mayfair, and daughter Danielle – but the couple divorced in 2001.

By then Roux and his brother Michel Sr had achieved dazzling success, opening the Waterside Inn in Bray, Berkshire, which was also awarded three Michelin stars, and establishing the Roux Scholarship to identify up-and-coming British chefs.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
