«Breaking News» The awkward moment Studio 10's Denise Drysdale's phone rings live on-air

Her television career spans over six decades, but Denise Drysdale's professionalism may be getting a little slack in her golden years.

The 70-year-old comedian broke one of the unwritten rules of live TV when forgot to switch off her mobile phone before a live broadcast of Studio 10 on Thursday.

The two-time Gold Logie winner looked rather embarrassed when her phone started ringing as co-host Sarah Harris was wrapping up a segment.

Making matters worse was the fact her ringtone was the sound of a duck quacking.

Fortunately, Sarah took the gaffe in her stride, telling the studio audience: '[Denise] has been out of TV for a while... can I answer it?'

She then took the phone and said: 'Hello, Denise Drysdale's phone, Sarah speaking. Hello, who's that? Oh, it's your cab driver!'

Denise sheepishly replied: 'Bit early...'

Speaking into the phone, Sarah asked: 'Can I take a message? Because we're actually live on-air on television right now!

'I've, got to get back to hosting a little TV show right now so I might let you go.'

Denise later revealed her mobile phone wasn't on silent because she was expecting a call from her grandson, Bodhi.

'I had it turned down then I turned it up because I was trying to get in touch with my grandson,' she explained.

Sarah then asked her, jokingly: 'How long have you been in TV?'

Denise rolled her eyes before acknowledging that she has been in the business long enough to know better.

Fellow panellist Angela Bishop interjected: 'You know it's a long-held tradition that if your phone goes off you have to get a case of beer for the entire crew!'

Cardinal rule: Sarah jokingly asked, 'How long have you been in TV?' - Denise rolled her eyes while conceding that she has been in the business long enough to know better. Denise then revealed the heartwarming reason that she accidentally left her phone on loud was that she was trying to get in touch with her grandson

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
