«Breaking News» Ant McPartlin's ex Lisa Armstrong 'lands a job on TOWIE as a makeup artist'

Ant McPartlin's ex-wife Lisa Armstrong has reportedly landed a job on The Only Way Is Essex, working as a makeup artist behind the scenes.

A source told the Daily Mirror that the makeup guru landed the job after impressing bosses with her skills, three months after she was axed from the same job at Britain's Got Talent.

It comes after Ant recently returned to work on BGT filming the auditions, his first time back presenting following his drink-drive arrest last March.

A source told the publication that Lisa has 'thrown herself' into work following her axe from BGT in December last year, which came amid claims that it was untenable for her work with Ant.

They added: 'As well as her regular stint doing makeup on Strictly, TOWIE is another opportunity which she grasped with both hands.

'Everyone was delighted with how it went and they will be using her again lots.'

A spokesperson for TOWIE also told the publication: 'Lisa and her team supplied hair and makeup... and did a fantastic job.'

MailOnline has contacted representatives for TOWIE and Lisa Armstrong for comment.

It remains to be seen whether Lisa will begin her new job for TOWIE's upcoming series this month, which will see many new additions following a cast cull earlier this year. 

Lisa was axed from BGT late last year ahead of the show's return to filming in January, with sources telling The Mirror it was due to bosses viewing it as 'untenable' that she could work with Ant following their divorce. 

However it was also claimed that bosses decided to axe Lisa over 'repeated attempts to get media attention' on social media.

A source told The Sun at the time: 'Lisa was taken off Britain’s Got Talent because bosses have seen the way she constantly courts attention on social media.

'They don’t want someone working on the show who behaves in this manner.

'Hair and make-up artists on the show need to be behind the scenes, but Lisa constantly tries to keep herself in the spotlight by using social media to get publicity.'

Yet Lisa hit out at the news that she had to leave whilst Ant would stay, 'liking' and re-tweeting a slew of supportive posts from fans.

Meanwhile Ant made his return to BGT in January after taking a break from presenting duties for the rest of 2018, and earned a thunderous response from fans.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
