«Breaking News» Staten Island's largest LGBTQ group is BANNED from St. Patrick's Day parade

Staten Island's St Patrick's Day organizers have refused an application from an LGBTQ advocacy group to march in the parade on Sunday.

Carol Bullock, head of the Pride Center of Staten Island, said her request to participate was turned down for the second time - despite the fact that she addressed the Parade committee in person in an attempt to secure participation.

The ban means Staten Island's parade on March 3 will be the only one in New York city that is not fully inclusive.

Bullock said committee President Larry Cummings told her the pride banner 'promoted the homosexual lifestyle,' which 'goes against the tenets of the Catholic Church.'

Although Pride Center of Staten Island is the borough's largest LGBTQ group, Bullock said Cummings dismissed its importance, telling her the St Patrick's Day celebration is 'not a sexual identification parade.'

Bullock told NY1: 'We understand this parade is really important to Staten Island and all of the Irish who live here.

'We just want to be a part of that and celebrate.'

New York's politicians have thrown their weight behind Bullock and called for the group to be included.

James Oddo, the Republican Borough President, tweeted last week: 'The St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Staten Island is a joy.

'I look forward to marching next month, and time has long passed that we include the Pride center SI.

'What a unifying moment it would be for our borough to reach an accord and have all of SI enjoying this happy day.'

State Governor Andrew Cuomo echoed the sentiment on Friday, tweeting: 'New York is the State of love. I stand with the Pride Center of Staten Island.

'Pride CenterSI should be permitted to march in the Staten Island St Patrick's Parade. (It's way past time).'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
