«Breaking News» Staffordshire four-bedroom hall boasting period features goes on the market for £1m

A castle in the country where the moulded ceiling cornices and stone fireplaces of the past mix seamlessly with a modern sonos sound system is for sale for £1m.

Callingwood Hall near Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was built in the 18th century but has been lovingly restored by its current owners.

Kim and Niall Turnbull fell in love with the grade II listed property's sweeping driveway and grade approach when they first saw the hall.

Combining old and new the couple set about dramatically renovating each room to restore the building to its former glory.

A Sonos sound system was was integrated into each room meaning music can play throughout the hall and a phone acts as the control.

They also completely re-wired and re-plastered the property, upgraded the heating system and installed a new kitchen, bathrooms and fitted storage

And even the television can be hooked up to an Artcoustic 3D TV sound system.

The house was originally part of the Rangemore Estate owned by Lord Burton, brewer, philanthropist and Liberal politician Michael Bass, in the 1880s.

The Grade II listed castellated property, near Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, has been thoroughly refurbished by its current owners to perfectly combine old and new, retaining period features but adding contemporary innovations.

It is now on the market with agents Fine & Country.

The history of the site dates back to Norman times but the house itself is believed to date back to the early part of the 18th century, and was then added to in the 19th century.

Henry de Ferrers, a Norman soldier who is believed to have fought at the Battle of Hastings, and his descendants are thought to have owned the estate on which the current Hall stands.

It has tiled flooring, moulded ceiling cornices and oak, stone and marble fireplaces, but the current owners, Kim and Niall Turnbull, have also given it a modern makeover.

Callingwood was bought by Bass in the 1880s and incorporated into his Rangemore Estate, which by 1900 was a thriving estate with 12 farms and small-holdings, over 50 houses and cottages, a church, school, working man's club, playing field, two public houses.

Rangemore Hall was Bass' principal home so Callingwood was often rented out.. It was later split into two 'wings', with this property the bigger of the two.

Callingwood Hall near Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was built in the 18th century but has been lovingly restored by its current ow...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
