«Breaking News» Melody Thornton admits she struggled in the Pussycat Dolls

Melody Thornton has candidly revealed that she struggled during her time in the Pussycat Dolls because she wasn't able to showcase her singing voice.

The 34-year-old Dancing On Ice star said that she found it challenging that the focus was on lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, who recorded all the vocals for the band.

During an emotive interview with Lorraine, Melody discussed her time with the g irl group, which she found 'tough' because she couldn't use her 'best asset'.

She said: 'The issue for me stemmed with getting into this group with this girl whose got this amazing Christina Aguilera style ability, thinking "this is going to be great". 

'But then the gears shifted hard in a different direction. Nicole had been in two groups prior, she had a lot of experience. We were told, Nicole is going to do all of the recording.'

The girls were told they were the dances, and Melody said that it affected her confidence because she wasn't allowed to sing.

Melody added: 'It was really challenging, it was tough. i was the worst dancer and people were getting to know me for something i wasn't trained in.'

The star said she found it especially hard because it was her first gig straight out of high school, and after nailing her first ever audition fame came fast and it was a lot to take in.

However following her challenging time in the band, Melody doesn't dismiss the possibility of a reunion, saying 'never say never' when quizzed about revival. 

She said: 'The issue for me stemmed with getting into this group with this girl whose got this amazing Christina Aguilera style ability, thinking "this is going to be great".

Despite her career being forged as one fifth of The Dolls, Melody claimed she 'just isn't the best dancer' during her segment on Lorraine.

Although she has a background in performance she said she has trouble with choreography and wakes up with bruises and doesn't know where they're from. 

Reflecting on her recent fall on the rink, she said: 'My face bounced on the ice and the memory is still there every time i step on the ice.'

'Some people might think I'm, not as competitive as anyone else - mostly because i don't watch anyone else, i am just focused on me.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
