«Breaking News» Meet PC Penny: Sir Rod Stewart's model wife reveals she is set to sign up as a special constable

With her flowing blonde hair, statuesque figure and dazzling smile, she is one of Britain's best-known models.

But Penny Lancaster has revealed she is considering changing career to become a special constable, although it might cause sleepless nights for her husband Sir Rod Stewart.

Miss Lancaster, 47, trained with the police for a new TV programme, and at one point found herself facing an addict who threatened to stab her with a needle.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, she said the programme has inspired her to train as a special constable.

In an interview with today's Weekend magazine by Jenny Johnston, she said: 'I want to do it. I've had a conversation with the sergeant and he said they'd love to have me join the force.

'The training for the real thing runs over 12 consecutive weekends, so I'm trying to figure out how I could do that. If I do qualify, I'd have to commit to 16 hours a month, which is very doable.'

But the change of career could be a worry for her husband of 11 years.

She said that while Sir Rod supported her taking part in the Channel 4 show, Famous and Fighting Crime, he became concerned about her safety.

'When he first heard I wanted to do the show he said, 'Brilliant. You go, girl',' the Loose Women panellist added. 'But when it got under way and he realised what was involved, he worried more. He's a worrier anyway.'

In the programme, which starts on February 11 at 9pm, the model is seen in police uniform chasing after a suspected shoplifter in Peterborough. The woman, a drug addict, then threatens to stab her with a needle.

'It was terrifying,' the mother-of-two admitted.

'I was aware of how vulnerable I was. I was unarmed. I was wearing a stab vest but didn't have a baton or a Taser gun or mace spray. I didn't even have handcuffs.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
