Angry parents across the country have reacted furiously to many schools' decision to remain closed for the day following overnight snowfall.
While thousands of children were thrilled to have a snow day off, the 2.000 closures nationwide were not greeted with joy by some parents forced to make last minute arrangements.
Hundreds of schools across the UK closed after snow fell overnight on Thursday, some were shut despite the white stuff barely touching them.
One angry Twitter user, Codders, posted: 'Pathetic the kids school is closed today why? No snow if we take kids out we get fined are the schools gonna get fined and pay us parents? I doubt it proves fines are just money making scam for the schools'
Wales, Bristol, Greater London, Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Hampshire, Berkshire, and West Sussex were just some of the areas to announce closures.
However, one Twitter user, Codders, posted: 'Pathetic the kids school is closed today why? No snow if we take kids out we get fined are the schools gonna get fined and pay us parents? I doubt it proves fines are just money making scam for the schools.'
With his profile location set to Llanelli, West Wales, the message was accompanied by a photograph showing the lightest dusting of snow.
Donna Marie, also in Wales, posted: '@GMB our school closed yesterday at 12.30 due to the forecast, at that time no snow had fallen and didn't fall until 4.30pm!! So they could have stayed £itsajoke £healthandsafetygonemad'.

Another user, Emily, tweeted that her school was closed despite there being no snow.
Tracy Cameron responded to a tweet from Monmouthshire County Council saying all community hubs and libraries were still open with: 'Why no schools open then? The knock on effect for parents is terrible. What mountain do all these teachers live up?'
In most cases, parents, carers and pupils were able to check on the status of their school through social media, or the local council website.

The Department for Education website also allowed people to enter their postcodes to find out what institutions in their area had shut due to the bad weather.

Meanwhile parents in Gloucestershire have been left in the dark after a council website revealing which schools were closed crashed.
Frustrated parents were met with the downed Gloucestershire City Council website this morning as they tried to find out if they needed to battle the cold weather to get their kids to school.
The freezing temperatures has seen multiple weather warnings issued by the Met Office for today and over the weekend, including cautions for snow and ice.
Thousands of schools have since closed, meaning an estimated 800,000 children will stay home today.
But the day wasn't made any easier when the Gloucestershire City Council website crashed.
Just one of the angry parents took to social media to vent their frustrations, writing: 'The school closure link is not working - been trying all morning! Please sort it out GCC, the old system always worked!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
