«Breaking News» Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall enjoy the beach at Byron Bay

Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall have taken a three day break from the Magic Millions events on the Gold Coast to enjoy the beach at Byron Bay.

Zara, 37, looked happy and relaxed in a blue stripy beach cover-up with a tassel detail, wayfarer sunglasses and bare feet.

She swept her blonde locks into a low bun for a laid-back look.

Her husband Mike, 40, meanwhile wore a colour coordinating blue t-shirt and patterned shorts with a baseball cap and flip flops as he carried a surfboard to the beach.

The pair seemed to be enjoying their time off in Australia as they chatted to friends.

Former rugby player Mike soaked up the sun as he relaxed on his surfboard. 

Zara had several outfit changes during her visit to the beach.

The Olympian changed into a khaki t-shirt and white shorts, paired with flip flops as she headed to the car. She was also seen in a casual white shirt.

Zara changed her look as she headed back to the car, donning a khaki t-shirt and white shorts. The eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth has been enjoying some time off.

The eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and her husband are in the country for a series of polo events as special guests. 

On Sunday, Zara competed in the Gold Coast's Magic Millions Polo Tournament. 

She looked delighted to be back in the saddle after missing out on part of last year's event while pregnant with her second child.

Zara, is the captain of Team Harrolds and took on Argentinian player Nacho Figueras at the sold-out Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo event.

Figueras is a close friend of Zara's cousin Prince Harry, and has played opposite the flame-haired Prince on several occasions.

Mike and Zara have had a very busy social calendar, attending a number of fancy events during their stay in Australia.

Later on Sunday, Zara and Mike donned their glad rags to mingle in with guests in the VIP area of the annual polo event at Doug Jennings Park.

The Queen's granddaughter looked typically chic in a blush pink lace dress for the occasion and came armed with a sunhat in light of the 27°C temperatures.

On Tuesday the pair attended a star-studded evening at the Special Marquee on the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions VIP Cocktail Party.   

The glamorous couple were very well suited indeed, both in dark tones for the prestigious night out.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
