The State of the Union address may take place on February 5 now that the federal government is set to reopen. 

Donald Trump's presidential address was formerly scheduled for January 29 at the House Chamber but it was postponed due to the partial government shutdown that is now the longest in U.S. history. 

The shutdown was finally brought to an end on Friday after it stretched to its 35th day.

Despite the government getting back on its feet, it's reportedly 'not physically possible' to hold the annual speech next Tuesday, a source tells Fox News.

February 5 is a date that is now being suggested for the speech, the source added.

An official date has not yet been released by the White House. 

In a press conference on Friday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said that the State of the Union address has no set date and won't get one until the government actually reopens. 

'The State of the Union is not planned now,' she quipped, when asked about it after her high-profile standoff with Trump during a press conference alongside Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. 

'What I'd said to the president is when the government is open, we will discuss a mutually agreeable date, and I'll look forward to doing that and welcoming the President to the House of Representatives for the State of the Union when we agree on that mutually agreeable date.' 

Pelosi requested the speech be delayed in a letter sent to Trump on January 16, citing security concerns and unpaid Secret Service agents. 

She wrote: 'Sadly, given the security concerns and unless the government reopens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after the government has reopened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th'.' 

Trump fired back with his own letter saying that he still intended to deliver the speech, but on Wednesday the President conceded to the Speaker's point to delay the speech until the shutdown was over.

He tweeted: 'As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. 

'This is her prerogative - I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber. I look forward to giving a "great" State of the Union Address in the near future.'

On Friday the House and Senate approved a short-term bill to temporarily reopen the federal government for three weeks and it notably did not include Trump's $5.7billion for a border wall. 

It's now on its way to the president's desk for signing.  

Trump announced he reached a deal with negotiators to temporarily reopen the government for three weeks and in that time negotiators will continue to push for his controversial wall. 

'I will sign a bill to open our government for three weeks,' the president announced Friday. 

'Let me be very clear. We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier,' Trump added, noting he'll continue to fight for the U.S.-Mexico border wall to be built.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
