«Breaking News» Michael Douglas dedicates his best actor in comedy series Golden Globes win to 102-year-old dad Kirk

He was the first big winner at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday night.


And Michael Douglas dedicated his win to his father, Kirk Douglas, who's 102.


Michael, 74, took home his fourth Golden Globe for his Netflix series The Kominsky Method after being named best actor in a TV series - comedy.

Michael beat out Sasha Baron Cohen, Jim Carrey, Donald Glover and Bill Hader to win the trophy handed out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at its annual bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. 


He began Sunday's acceptance speech by thanking the HFPA, telling the group: 'For 45 years, you’ve always surprised me and treated me so well.'

He also thanked his show's creator Chuck Lorre, explaining: 'Chuck thinks getting old is funny. Thank you for your exquisite work.' 


He then concluded: 'This goes to my 102-year-old father, Kirk.'

Michael has previously won Golden Globes for Wall Street and Behind The Candelabra and was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award in 2004.


During his speech, he gave credit to his children and his 'extraordinary wonderful wife' Catherine Zeta Jones. 


The Welsh actress accompanied her husband to the awards show looking stunning in a strapless green gown with small train.


He shares son Dylan, 18, and daughter Carys, 15, with Catherine.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
