«Breaking News» Martin Clunes swears on live TV... forcing a flustered Phillip Schofield to apologise

He was no doubt looking forward to a return to normality on This Morning as his co-host Holly Willoughby made his return.

Yet Phillip Schofield was left feeling flustered during Monday's episode as he had to jump in and apologise after Martin Clunes swore live on air.

The 57-year-old actor was on the show promoting his new drama, Manhunt, but got sidetracked discussing financial problems in policing, leading to a sweary rant about the 's****storm government cuts'.

Martin stars as DCI Colin Sutton in the three-part drama that follows the investigations into the serial killer Levi Bellfield, who murdered Millie Dowler, Marsha McDonnell and Amélie Delagrange.

Speaking about the role, he said it'opened his eyes' to the work the police do, adding: 'How many people and how much energy there is on [the force] - we thought it was a good time maybe to tell that story.

'I was playing the SIO, so I wanted to see how the rest of the team were towards him - how he was towards him. We filled our boots and you come away thinking: Thank god we've got a police force.

'Which we won't have if this current sh***-storm of a government have their way.'

A flustered Phil then jumped in and quickly apologised to viewers in case they had been offended by the mid-morning outburst.

Despite the slight hiccup, the rest of the interview went without controversy.

It was an action-packed day for Phil as he also welcomed back co-host Holly after not appearing on the daytime show together for three months while Holly was in Australia hosting I'm A Celebrity.

Despite Phil and Holly remaining in regular touch, the presenter joked viewers may have forgotten who she is, and proceeded to stick a nametag on her forehead.

Opening the show in sensational fashion, Holly danced around the studio to an energetic hit while Phil explained to viewers this was her first time back in the studio since October 21st.

As he then re-introduced Holly to viewers, he pulled out a sticky name tag emblazoned with her name, and proceeded to stick it on her forehead.

Holly seemed less-than impressed by Phil's kind gesture, pulling the nametag off her forehead and sticking it on her chest.

It's official... Holly Willoughby is back!

After a stint in Australia presenting I'm A Celebrity, the ultimate doyenne of daytime television has returned to our morning screens.

Although we were loving Holly's cool jungle clobber featuring hiking boots, parka jackets and the like, we did miss her usual aesthetic... and what a way to kick us back off!

Styled as usual by Angie Smith, Holly donned a chic midi skirt by Reiss, teamed with a periwinkle blue poloneck by Jigsaw. Elegant, classic and oh so Holly!

The 57-year-old a...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
